Nodoka, smiling as she continued the game with her friends, twisted free and rushed down a corridor, hoping to reach the library first. Nodoka had known all the routes, all the turns of the boarding school, but she never seemed to get there first. This was the first time in a long time that she had been able to play this game, and she was rusty,

Snapping back to the girl in front of him, Alfred gave her a friendly look. "Don't worry, Miss! I will protect you from any evil doer around here! I'm also putting up posters to raise the spirits of the people in this city!" He didn't seem to notice her nervousness, in both her voice and posture. "You should also see the aliens on this weird planet! They run the shops and everything! I'm trying to befriend all of them!" It seems like he is jumping from one topic to the next.

"T-There are evil doers here?" Nodoka questioned quietly, her hands gripping the small metal artifacts in her pocket even tighter. This didn't bode well at all - she didn't want to have to use Negi-sensei's pactio, but if there were-- "A-Aliens?!" The girl looked terrified at the prospect, and she forced herself to close her eyes and take deep breaths. This man was all over the place with a very short attention spans, much like the twins and Makie-san... Smiling, Nodoka nods.
"Y-You can befriend aliens?"

It was on one of those pleasant, yet distracted walks that Phoenix came across a young girl; a young girl who seemed to be shaken. Her voice was quiet, sweet and decidedly nervous. There was a moment of pause in which Phoenix considered whether or not he should help-- he knew that, if it were him, lost, alone, and in a strange City, he'd definitely want to speak with a friendly face.
Then it was decided; he moved to stand before her and even crouch so that he didn't tower over her and intimidate her, and even made an active attempt to hide the fangs he wore with a cautious and even nervous smile of his own.
"... Hi." He said lightly, wiggling his fingers beside him in an extended greeting. "Are you lost?"

Nodoka jumped when she heard a voice, turning and facing a man. She blinked, her shaking calming - he didn't seem dangerous, and he seemed as though he genuinly wanted to help... It was not abnormal for her to trust people, however, so she smiled at him, crossing her arms over her stomach nervously. He was still a great deal older than her anyway.
"Uh... Y-Yes, that's right, um..." Nodoka blushed, looking down - she felt quite ashamed of being lost, even though she had no idea where she was. "I-I don't know how I got here, I must've taken a wrong turn, ahh.."
She smiled brokenly, almost innocently, before looking away again, trying not to keep eye contact.

"It's okay," he assured her, reaching a hand out to gently pat her shoulder. "My name is Phoenix, and... I'll try and help you out." He smiled another genuine smile and moved to look away himself, his eyes falling along the City's tall buildings and then back down along the cobbled streets until they finally met hers again-- or, at least, tried to.
"I don't think any of us know how we got here." He admitted, after a short silence. "And... I'm afraid you're stuck here."

"T-Thank you, Phoenix-san, really... I-I don't want to be a bother, though, r-really, so... Please, I-I am sure I will be alright!" Nodoka smiled and bowed quickly, reminding herself that even though she was terrified that she had to be polite. "I am Nodoka Miyazaki. It's very nice to meet you, a-and thank you for your kindness!"
Nodoka glanced up at the sky, wondering if she was even in the same dimension as her friends. She'd never heard of a city like this, but perhaps Negi-sensei had... She sighed and turned away, trying not to cry as the realisation that she was really, really alone hit her.
