Nodoka, smiling as she continued the game with her friends, twisted free and rushed down a corridor, hoping to reach the library first. Nodoka had known all the routes, all the turns of the boarding school, but she never seemed to get there first. This was the first time in a long time that she had been able to play this game, and she was rusty,

Nodoka jumps at the voice, turning and almost falling over as she catches sight of this new person. He didn't seem to scary, so perhaps her fears weren't as justified as she had imagined, but still... She nods, stepping back and staring at him with bright eyes. She felt incredibly lost, terribly confused and more afraid than she had been in months, but at least she had understood what he had been saying to her. At least there wasn't some strange, new language for her to learn.

"Ah, h-hello," Nodoka stammered out, bowing awkwardly. Politeness was key when you were meeting new people, after all! Her smile was nervous, half-broken and strained, but she was trying her hardest. She examined the man again, noting the fact that he was wearing a warm jacket and seemed to be quiet cheerful - was it winter here? It had been summer at home... Resiting the urge to hide her face behind her long hair, the girl tried to speak again.

"Uh... I-I'm sorry if I am intruding! I-I came here by mistake - it w-wasn't my fault!" Nodoka bowed again, trying to get into the man's good books, if possible. It had worked with Craig and the Treasure Hunters... Nodoka grasped onto the metal items in her pocket and took a gentle breath, trying to calm down.

"You sure bow a lot! You remind me of my friend, Japan!" Alfred thought of the quiet nation with a cheerful smile. They are starting to become really good trading buddies and both of their countries (well, mainly his) are prospering because of it! It is always good to open up one's borders and experience all the different kinds of cultures out there! Plus, all the other nations will be able to see his awesomeness!

Snapping back to the girl in front of him, Alfred gave her a friendly look. "Don't worry, Miss! I will protect you from any evil doer around here! I'm also putting up posters to raise the spirits of the people in this city!" He didn't seem to notice her nervousness, in both her voice and posture. "You should also see the aliens on this weird planet! They run the shops and everything! I'm trying to befriend all of them!" It seems like he is jumping from one topic to the next.

Nodoka looks very confused - and, she supposed, anyone would be with the prospect of someone being friends with the country she was born in. Blinking in surprise, she attempts a confused smile and nods. "Ah, w-well... That is where I was b-born, sir..." She nods slowly, trying to work out how on earth one can be friends with a country. Her mind was momentarily boggled, but then she realised that he was speaking again and she tried to catch on to the end of his sentence, hoping he didn't notice her loss of concentration.

"T-There are evil doers here?" Nodoka questioned quietly, her hands gripping the small metal artifacts in her pocket even tighter. This didn't bode well at all - she didn't want to have to use Negi-sensei's pactio, but if there were-- "A-Aliens?!" The girl looked terrified at the prospect, and she forced herself to close her eyes and take deep breaths. This man was all over the place with a very short attention spans, much like the twins and Makie-san... Smiling, Nodoka nods.

"Y-You can befriend aliens?"

"So you are one of the people from Japan! I been thinking of building a McDonald's there in the far future! Look forward to it!" He gave her a thumps up. One day, he'll build McDonald's at every single country so that everyone can taste the best food in the world! First, he'll have to create more in his country, but it will happen! His hamburgers may even create world peace or something! No, a giant hero with a giant hamburger will definitely do the trick!

"Yes, there are evil doers here! For instance, Russia is probably planning to take over this city and enslave the aliens or something! After all, he bullies the nations around him, like Lithuania! He doesn't believe in freedom at all!" Alfred responded while shaking a fist in the air. But as long as is here, he'll stop Russia's evil plans and mark himself as a hero! Justice always prevails!

Alfred gave an excited nod to her question. "You can befriend them! They're resident to this strange city and everyone calls them 'shades.' However, I'm starting to think of new names for them! Like the first shade I befriended is named 'Uncle Sam' and the latest one I met is called 'Justice!'" He still needs to befriend more of them though!

Nodoka looked baffled. A McDonalds...? She sighs and nods, going along with whatever this person was talking about. Perhaps this was some sort of place for people who were poorly? Otherwise... How else would you be able to meet a nation such as her motherland? Nodoka's grip on her artifacts drops and she crosses her arms behind her back - this man didn't seem as though he intended to hurt her, poorly or not. Plus, she could always try and remember some of Setsuna-san's moves - they were always very good!

"Aah, R-Russia-san is an evil doer?" Though her History was focused around Japan, she had read somewhere about tension between Russia and... Everyone, really. But this man must be really ill if he thinks the nation itself is an evil doer, right? "I see, I-I think I understand. And so... Y-You're very fond of freedom, then, s-sir?" Nodoka asked, her voice getting quieter by the second. Perhaps he was dangerous after all.

At the mention of the man naming the "aliens", Nodoka jumped and was startled into a half-bow, a small whimper leaving her lips. "I-I'm sorry! I forgot to introduce myself! I am N-Nodoka Miyazaki, it's a pleasure to meet you, sir!" She rose to her full, albiet tiny, height and lifted a hand to brush her hair from her face. Maybe, just maybe, this man could show her to a telephone so she could phone home...

"Russia is the biggest evil doer out there! He lies and pretends to be nice, but he is really mean inside! One can never trust what he says. What's worse, is that he lives right next to me! But at least I can keep an eye on him and make sure that he doesn't poison the other citizens with his evil ideals!" Well, Russia told him that he is a democracy now, but Alfred still doesn't trust him! Especially since Ivan told him that he was still fond of communism!

"Freedom is my middle name!" Alfred told her before realizing that he hasn't given his name out yet. "I am Alfred F. Jones, the hero of World War II and the nation of America!" He started to pull one of his posters out. "It's great to meet you Nodoka! You should meet my roommate, Edward! He is really short, like you!" America shoved the poster into her hands. "Here! This is a poster of a giant hero! If you are depressed or something, just look at him and you'll instantly cheer up!"

"T-That does not sound like a very nice person a-at all, ahh..." Nodoka nods along with what he's saying, but she doesn't think that anyone can be as evil as this person is describing Russia to be. As long as the man was watching him, though, surely that means that things were going to be alright? Nodoka was still rather nervous, however, and took a deep breath to attempt to calm herself - she wondered if she would have to do this a lot.

"I-It's a pleasure to meet you, Jones-san..." The girl replied timidly. He was very loud, and 'Freedom' appeared to be a strange middle name, though she was not one to judge. But... The nation of America? Nodoka's mind instantly lead to the idea that the man must be insane - there is no way that a man could be a country, right? "E-Edward-san..." She blustered when the poster was shoved into her hands, but she gripped it as best she could, eyes wide. "Oh, a-ahh... Thank you, Jones-san, r-really... I am sure it'll be very effective!"

"That poster will also ward off INJUSTICE and everything NON-AMERICAN! Think of it as a good luck charm!" Alfred responded before raising his pointer finger. "You also need to try the McDonald's here! The burgers and fries are really good! I eat there every single day! Sometimes, I have breakfast, lunch, and dinner there too!"

He gave another large smile at her. "One day I'll build a giant hero to protect everyone! No one will be in danger or harmed anymore! Not only that, but the alien shades will also have a protector with them at all times then!" America explained to her. It is a great plan that shows off his idealism and thoughtfulness!

Nodoka stared at the man. He was so loud and had such grand speech, it was almost overwhelming. She blinked at him for a moment before smiling nervously, nodding along with his short speech. "I-I see. I will treasure it, thank you..." She held the poster gently, as though it was going to explode at any second - strange presents form strange people? What sort of place was she in, really?

"Ah, t-that sounds like a very difficult plan, Jones-san..." Nodoka replied awkwardly. "It does sound like it would be good at protecting people, however... I-I hope it works out for you!" Nodoka smiled a little brighter, charmed slightly. The thought that this man wanted to protect people was comforting, more so than she'd dare admit. "Um, J-Jones-san... Can you tell me where I am?"

Alfred crouched down a bit so that he was at the same height as Nodoka. His expression appeared to be serious and he spoke in a low voice. "You are on an alien planet." His tone was similar to those rangers describing animals on a safari. There seemed to be no reason for Alfred's sudden behavioral change. Perhaps he did it for more dramatic effect.

Nodoka jumped, staring at the American with shock. She was suddenly more nervous, terrified of the expression and how serious he'd suddenly become. It was chilling. She squeaked - an alien planet? She was... Just like the other time, then. But this time there was no Negi-sensei or Craig-san to help look after her. She really was on her own this time. "A-An alien planet... Again?" She sighed, suddenly more scared and more upset than before.

His mood suddenly brightened up and he clamped a hand on her shoulder. "Yes! An alien planet! Don't worry about being in danger though! The aliens are really nice, except at night!" Alfred himself hasn't explored out at night, since one can't really adventure that well in the dark and he was kinda afraid that a monster would jump out on him.

"I-I see..." At least she could sort-of handle the situation now. Taking a deep breath she nods, listening and taking heed of what Alfred was saying. He had evidently been here far longer than she had, therefore he must have some good advice about living her and getting along with things. "At night? W-W-What happens at night?" Nodoka was sure that the Aliens here were a lot less kind than her old friend Chao-san, but... She didn't want to have to deal with evil aliens. Fate was bad enough...

"I heard from a friend that they attack the people at night. It is like one of those scary movies that I used to watch! Everything seems great in the daytime, but at night, creepy monsters or possessed people come out to try and kill everyone!" That is why he needs to build his giant hero soon, so that he can battle against these evil doers!

"Eehh..." Nodoka looked a little more worried than before, but relaxed as quickly as she could. "I should f-find somewhere to stay for a while - is there a place, Alfred-san? I-I don't want to be caught out at night if there are aliens or monsters, even i-if I do have this wonderful poster to make me happy..." Nodoka sighed, holding the poster a little tighter. It was all she had as a comfort blanket at the moment and she resolved to hold onto it as tightly as she could.

Alfred nodded and grabbed her by the arm. "Yes! There is a podium where you can sign your name and choose your apartment! Hopefully, you'll get good neighbors!" America had good neighbors for a while until that evil Russia decided to room right across from him! "Let's go! I'll show you!" He started to run towards the location of the podium, dragging Nodoka behind him.
