It was a very special day in the life of Cale Mills and James Walker.
It had been two months since Cale had asked James to marry him, but both of them could still picture the moment in their minds perfectly...
Cale had done something stupid again... What? He didn't have a clue...
Guess he was just a clueless person sometimes.
Still, James was mad at him for some reason and Cale had a feeling a simple sorry wouldn't cut it this time.
After a lot of persuading and coaxing on Cale's side, James finally gave in to go to dinner at a fancy restaurant that evening.
Besides giving his drink and food order to their waiter, James hadn't said a word ever since they left their house.
Cale was getting more desperate by the minute and he finally cracked.
" Can you finally tell me what's going on, please? I know you're mad, I just don't know why..."
" That's so typical of you, Cale Mills. You go ahead and hurt me and you don't even realize it."
" I really don't know what I've done to hurt you..."
" You punched Duncan! You punched him right in his face!"
" Oh. That..."
" Yes, that!" James slightly raised his voice out of anger, "What the hell did you punch my best friend in the face for?"
" 'Cause he was totally hitting on you. You might be blind to it, but I'm not."
" Oh, please..." James rolled his eyes, " Not another one of your jealous breakdowns."
" Oh, so now I'm the jealous one?" Cale raised his voice too and people started watching them. " Who's always so jealous at Kate,huh?"
" She was your girlfriend, Cale. Duncan's never been my boyfriend. It's a completely different thing."
" You say it correctly; Kate was my girlfriend. You have no reason to be jealous at her."
"Neither have you. Duncan is my friend. Not my boyfriend."
Cale seemed to calm down a little and shifted in his seat.
" Can we start this over?" Cale asked quietly, "This is not how I wanted to spend this evening with you."
"Ok," James shrugged, " How did you want to spend the evening then?"
Cale suddenly looked extremely nervous and sipped from his wine one more time before standing up from his chair.
James looked utterly confused, then in pure shock as Cale pulled a little black box out of the pocket of his coat and went down on one knee beside him.
Cale opened the box and held it out in front of him so James had a good view on it.
" James Walker," Cale spoke, his voice soft and warm, " Will you do me the honor of changing your name into James Walker Mills, and marry me?"
James clasped his hand at his mouth as his eyes filled up with tears.
Cale moved closer to him and spoke again, " James, will you marry me?"
James still stared at him and Cale was slightly getting worried...
"Yes, you big dork!" James exclaimed, " Yes, I will marry you!"
Cale took James' hand and gently slid the ring around his finger.
James completely teared up at the gentleness with which Cale treated him.
He pulled Cale up and wrapped his arms around his shoulders.
" This is the most beautiful day in my life."
" No babe, " Cale smiled, " I believe that will be our wedding day."
Now it was the day... The big day that James Walker would become James Walker Mills, and boy, had he been looking forward to it...
When James told Duncan he was gonna get married to Cale, for the first time he noticed the sad, disappointed, and defeated look in his eyes, and he knew that Cale had been right all along...
He first wanted to ask Duncan as his best man, but when he saw that look, he changed his mind and asked Adam, while Cale had asked Kris of course.
James looked one last time in the mirror before walking out of the house and up to the limousine.

When he arrived, Cale was already waiting for him in the little hall inside, waiting to both open the door and walk through the aisle.
The look in Cale's eyes at the sight of him was all James needed to get lost of his nerves.
They were so full of happiness, so full of love; that James could just melt away on the spot he was standing on.
" Are you ready babe?" Cale asked as he kissed James gently on the cheek.
James smiled and nodded, " Ready as I'll ever be."
" Let's go then."
The doors were opened and music started to play as both boys, hand in hand, took their first step onto the aisle.
James stopped dead in his tracks as he recognized the song, and most importantly, the voice...
" You didn't..." James whispered, " Please tell me you didn't."
Cale chuckled and beamed at his husband to be, "Oh yes I did. Look..."
James looked into the direction that Cale pointed at and saw no one other than Duncan, singing into the microphone.
" I thought you didn't like him."
" I don't," Cale shrugged, "But you do, and I'd do anything to make you happy."
James stroked his finger over Cale's cheek.
"You already did."
Cale smiled before he tugged on James' hand to get them both moving again while the music carried on...

Another round of chuckles as James took the ring from Adam and slid it on Cale's finger.
They both turned around, smiling, to the priest.
" Now it's time to make this wedding official," the priest spoke and turned to Cale first, " Do you, Cale Mills, take James Walker as your beloved husband?"
" I do."
" Do you, James Walker, take Cale Mills as your beloved husband?"
"I do."
" Then I pronounce you now, husband and husband. You may kiss your groom now."
Cale bend down while James leaned up and they met halfway in a tender kiss.
There were cheers as the ceremony ended and rice was thrown over their heads when Cale and James walked down the church steps.
As they both settled into the backseat of the same limousine, they waved at their friends as the driver took off.
James leaned against Cale's side and rested his head on his shoulder.
" This really is the most beautiful day of my life." James sighed happily.
