OH SO right yes. Ned's power is aliving dead people and then rekilling the dead people he alived. His girlfriend Chuck is an alive again person so they can't touch and have to kiss through Saran Wrap. She was in camp but had to drop earlier this year.
SO I'M JUST SAYING IT WOULD'VE BEEN CONVENIENT. BUT this seems to be an interesting thing :3
Haha yeah I imagine not, if you have any pure telepaths around. XD
ALSO regarding what qualifies as "supernatural", what about things like.... the Sengoku Basara cast, where like. everything they do in canon is overpowered beyond human ability, but it's... basically NORMAL within their canon? As in, having inhuman physical capability, but it's not... really supernatural, so to speak. Surely ANY worthy general should be capable of casually cutting down a wall of arrows flying at him, there's nothing odd about Yukimura's spears bursting into flame from the burning passion of his fiery soul, etc. THINGS LIKE THAT.
Nah, characters in Index are capable of insane physical feats without necessarily being supernatural abilities too. Touma's a capable street-fighter, but he probably won't be able to match up to a hard-trained soldier.
Well, it's nowhere near as convenient as Sakura's version though, since it only extends from the wrist up to his fingertips. It even has the effect of negating his luck. The only plus is that it can't be overused, so it pretty much works forever
The way I figure, it'll affect certain Pokemon moves and not others. For example, Pikachu can naturally store and emit electricity, like an electric eel, so Touma won't be able to negate that. Now, if a Pokemon that doesn't normally have such an ability, like a Wigglytuff or an Alakazam used an Electric attack, he'd be able to negate that. He'll also be able to negate any and all Psychic and Ghost moves, since those are preternatural by default. Moves like Hidden Power, Shadow Ball, Dark Pulse, Aura Sphere, etc., etc. can also be negated. On the other hand, he won't be able to do a thing about any moves that require the Pokemon to physically touch him, like Focus Punch or Tackle. Moves like Substitute, Barrier and Protect will also be negated with a single touch. Incidentally, he'll be able to punch Ghost Pokemon
( ... )
Ahh, that. There's actually a character in canon who has a similar ability: the power to turn his thoughts into reality. Touma was able to negate anything that guy summoned with his right hand. Whether it was a car or electricity, and even when the guy stopped another character's heart, Touma was able to negate the effects. If he touched a Shinkenger while transformed directly, he can probably even undo the transformation.
For clarity, the Imagine Breaker is on 24/7, or does he need to know what's going on to direct it? Dresdenverse wizards like Molly constantly carry their power around in a very obvious way, such that touching one's skin is actually almost like brushing their power--and this power they're carrying around causes technology to break around them.
Second, Dresdenverse wizards can't look other humans in the eye for more than the barest of seconds without being drawn into a Soulgaze that gives both people a look into...well, the other person's soul. Would the Imagine Breaker negate that?
It's not that I'm trying to find loopholes or anything--if the ability blocks Molly's innate wizardly effects, she'd actually hang around him a lot more. HEY BUDDY WILL YOU FOCUS ON ME A WHILE SO I CAN USE A LAPTOP FOR ONCE IN MY DAMN LIFE?
The Imagine Breaker IS in fact on constantly and can't actually be turned off, regardless of his will. It's actually sometimes problematic for him since its very presence can even screw with healing magic, making it impossible to use it when he's around. Suffice to say, he ends up in the hospital a lot.
As for the eye-contact thing, although I'm not entirely certain, the Imagine Breaker probably WOULD negate that regardless of touch, considering certain incidents in the canon. So yeah, no Soulgaze, I think.
As for allowing Molly to use her laptop... Touma would have to physically touch Molly with his right hand in order for that to work. And if he does touch Molly, all of her abilities would be completely inaccessible for that duration.

... my other big question is about the Shinkenmaru. Does it affect summoned objects that are otherwise normal?
