A Lie of the Heart - Author's Notes & Thanks

Author's Notes
This was my first time participating in the J2-SPN Big Bang and it was so much fun.
When I first started writing this story, it was an entirely different piece. I always knew that I wanted my local college to be a fixture in the story. As I tried to fit a plot into my desired setting, I realized that I was going about things the wrong way.
I ended up scrapping that original plot and reworking it from the ground up. I decided on my plot and went from there. Few elements from that first story are still present in the one you just read. Jared is still the goofy college kid trying to make some money and Jensen is still the stubborn fool trying not to fall in love with his pretend boyfriend. And of course, I was able to keep my original setting. As my beta put it, "it's a love letter to my hometown". She's right, it really is. I drew on many real life elements and memories to create the world that I set my story in. With any luck, I managed to make it come to life.
