Yesterday I watched "Why Change Your Wife?," a Cecil B. DeMille picture from 1920 starring wonderful Gloria Swanson.

The costumes and dialogue were brilliant...the characterizations of women, less so. When the movie was over I was still swooning over coats and headdresses, so I went through it again and took photos of some of the best scenes.

Last week I went to Hokkaido, which is the northernmost island of Japan. I wanted to see the countryside, which ended up being a disaster. But I did have fun in the big city of Sapporo.
