Yeah.. its sad to leave an institution like that. You start feeling you were part of the furniture there.

Still seems odd to not think of you as Kodak employee. Here's hoping the new job turns out to be as successful.

Hmm I rather supposed that you'd just transfer over to Carestream, as a number of my contacts in Kodak Health UK have done.

Be interesting to see how Kodak/Carestream go over now, rebranding in the medical world is always tricky - do you remember the Picked debacle?

Picker International, well known healthcare equipment manufacturer rebranded as Marconi Healthcare and then sank without a trace (after Siemens and GE picked the remaining scraps of meat off the bones).

I think Kodak Health UK were in for a rough ride anyway - they did not pick up that that big a chunk of the pie when HM Gov divided the country into a few mega-regions and set contracts for PACS. What business they did get was as a subcontractor with much reduced margins.

Conventional radiology via X-Ray film is pretty much a dead business now.

Hope the new job goes well!

Wow.

I knew it was coming (because you'd hinted as much) but it's still a bit of a shock -- I've always thought of you when I see the Kodak logo, and that's suddenly erroneous ...

Looking forward to your Beginnings news tomorrow! ;]
