Wow! This is just wonderful. Thank you for posting it.

I never had a chance to see Keano play, but this interview really gives a huge insight into what sort of person he is. I loved reading it. But it's so sad that things ended so badly for him at United. But, the fans still think highly of him, and in the end that's all that matters.

All the best to the Black Cats, I hope they survive. And I hear Jonny is playing a huge part in helping them do it, so well done to him too.

Yeah, it makes me sad to hear how badly things ended at United. But the fans still love him and always will, and I hope that means something to Roy. :(

I'm sure he realizes we love him and miss him and I just hope he doesn't associate the fans with what United did to him :(

The way the board treated him totally pisses me off. It's sad, the absolute lack of class shown to our most successful captain. :( Just saying it's a business, not a charity is no justification, surely there could have been a more dignified way to handle things. Sigh.

But yes, I really do hope he can tell that the fans still hold him dear in their hearts.

What are people's thoughts on Roy managing United after Alex Ferguson retires? Because I'm sure the board are fickle enough to realise he's a good manager who takes no sh*t and would go for him if they felt he would win them matches...just as long as it isn't Quieroz. 5-3-1 indeed...

I think he needs a lot more experience before he could be good enough to manage such a big club as ours. Sure he's doing really well with Sunderland, but there's a huge difference between them and us. There's no doubting his character, he'd probably do well.

Also, I think CQ has done a great job with us. He doesn't often get the credit. Remember, it was due to his contacts that Cristiano, Nani and Anderson are with us today. Also, the 4-5-1/4-3-3 system did not look too bad against Arsenal in the FA cup, did it?

Another five years maybe...I'm just thinking as in, they need a really stand-out manager within the next ten or so years (although wouldn't put it past Ferguson to do another twenty!) & Keane seems to be the only one around.

I dunno what happened to my brian up there with the formation thing...I can't add up basically, hahahaha. & as I grew up in an environment when Queiroz is constantly referred to as 'the donkey', I'd say I'm prejudiced...yeah he does a good job with Ronaldo etc., I'd say being Portugese too does come into it. I'm not so sure about Anderson at the moment, although I'd say it's pretty sure he'll settle and United will be very glad they got him before anyone else did, same pattern as Ronaldo really.
Arsenal FA Cup was legend. Spesh since my friend supports them...I was just thinking that in a load of matches I've seen, as soon as they switch into 4-4-2 (now that adds up to eleven players) they look a lot more comfortable.

Um...sorry for the essay. *grin*

(although wouldn't put it past Ferguson to do another twenty!)Oh, wouldn't it be great if he could? I can't imagine a United team without Fergie at it's head. It's one of those things that seem unchangeable. He's put so much of himself into the team, it will be difficult for any new manager to impose his own ideas. And I wonder if we'll be satisfied with him, no matter how big a name it is ( ... )

that's an absolutely brilliant article. i like the way he came accross in the interview, he carried himself really well. Love the tidbits about life as the gaffer and how he adjust to it. I like also the part where he rang the fan who wrote complaint letter to the club and chatted with him :). Imagine if Keano suddenly rang you - I'd probably faint, or just babble and squee incoherently ( ... )
