Although Sigyn was born and raised in Asgard, it is important to note that she is not an Asgardian by birth. Sigyn is in actuality a member of the Vanir - a (relatively) peaceful race associated with wisdom, fertility, and foresight. Sigyn’s mother, Freyja, was a Vanir hostage given over to Asgard by Vanaheim as part of a negotiation for peace. ( Read more... )
