Yoshimi showed me a recent post (or posts) of yours in which you discussed upgrades to your MacBook Pro ... a new wifi card and an expresscard SSD, I think. But what piqued my interest most was your mention of having previously upgraded the HDD to a 500GB / 7200RPM model.
I have a slightly newer MBP than yours (Macbook Pro 2,2 specifically ... Core 2 Duo processor and a wifi card that could be flashed to support 802.11n) with only a 120GB HDD, so a big and fast drive sounds like a really attractive upgrade. I can't find the your post from here (friends-filtered, I'm sure), so I don't have the details ... What model of drive did you use? Have you found that battery life suffered at all as a result of the drive swap?
Also, hi, I'm Ian... I'll add you pretty shortly after finishing this comment. My lj is pretty dead these days, but there's some older stuff about messing around with my old MDD G4 in there, if you're interested to look.
Cool, thanks for the pointers. I've had good look with Seagate hardware in the past. If I do go ahead with it I'll be certain to give you a shout out as to how it went ...
It's an easy job but i'm definatenly happy to help.
As an update, the SSD does get warm when there's lots of action, but I'm not lettng that bother me, the case seems to run hot anyway. I definately fancy a new one but have far more important demands on my cash:)

ISP was the wrong word really - they are my email providers and domain name managers.
