Komui found himself strolling down the halls again. He had walked through them numerous times. The murders put him ill at ease, if only for the disregard and utter lack of restraint some of the new patients were showing. The asylum probably wasn't as dangerous as he thought it was, but now that his little sister was here again, he couldn't help but be paranoid, the ridiculously overprotective side of him kicking into overdrive. Considering Lenalee no longer had her Innocence to protect herself, it was hard not to be. It reminded him too much of of what had happened back at the Order not so long ago.

He sighed, refocusing his thoughts to the task at hand. Within a minute of walking, he found himself at his sister's door. He knocked on it once, calling her name loudly enough she would be able to hear. After that, it was only a few minutes to get to the Bookman's door.

Lenalee had been pacing the room this time when she waited for her brother to come get her. Restlessness was starting to take over, and though she had already risked going out to Amalthea's room once, she could barely contain the urge to go out exploring the grounds more. She could ask her brother, but to be honest, she really didn't want to. Their last conversation had not settled well with her, and until she could get her mind wrapped around all this somehow, she didn't think she could be comfortable around him. Or Lavi or Bookman for that matter.

Which meant she was not in the least looking forward to this meeting. Nevertheless, when Komui called for her, she answered with an enthusiastic "Coming!" before opening the door and following him to Bookman's room.

Sometimes there were things to be learned that were not fun, but learning them would answer questions that might set aside other unpleasant things. Bookman tried to keep in mind that what he requested of Komui and Lenalee was probably not something they wanted to face, but he also respected the boundaries that Komui had asked him to keep. He was aware from whence Lenalee had 'arrived', and would not speak too openly of a questionable future that they might possibly damage. That was never his place to begin with, and he appreciated what little they could provide him.

He opened the door as they arrived and smiled slightly, the ever slight change in his expression his way of offering consideration for familiar faces from his world. Solitary as he was, Bookman was not rude. He stepped aside, letting them into the room where he had cleared spaces for them to sit on the bed if they wished.

"Director. Miss Lena. How have you been?"

He nodded once, smiling warmly as he entered the room. It wasn't really very different from his own, really, down to the untidy mess of general disorder Komui felt absolutely comfortable with. A little clutter made the room look like less of a prison cell and more like a room of one's own. It made things more tolerable, at any rate. Komui was sick of staring at white walls, and had half a mind to start drawing his robotic blueprints across them for a a little change of scenery. That, and to the ever-pursuing boredom at bay. Stretch his scientific mind a little ( ... )
