"Teams of two? Sounds good to me." Gojyo threw himself into a chair. "It'll be interesting, at least."

He smirked at Wolfwood. "Nice to meetcha, too. But if we're playing with teams, I'll stick with Hakkai." He tilted his head at his friend. "I honestly can't think of any game Hakkai's ever lost... So I'll guess we'll just have to see about that ass-kicking thing, won't we?"

"It's good to finally meet you in person as well, Wolfwood-san," Hakkai said with a smile, nodding at the tall, dark-haired man.

He laughed good-naturedly at Gojyo's assessment of his poker skills, but didn't otherwise remark on it. "Ah, it doesn't matter to me," he said. "We can always change later if we want to."

Well, maybe whatever magic healing juju fixed people here, it would fix Wolfwood's nicotine habit too. Then he'd stop smelling like a bad bar. And wouldn't get ash all over the place. He dropped into a chair, long limbs and coat flying.

Completely and utterly deadpan, Vash pointed at Wolfwood, once the subject of teams was brought up, and said simply, "He cheats."

Wolfwood had expected that volley from Vash and was prepared to defend himself. Lifting an eyebrow, he said calmly, "I do not. Name to me one instance, just one , where you can prove I've been anything less than honest in my card dealings." Looking around the rest of the table, he leveled his gaze at Hakkai and Gojyo in turn.

"He's just jealous 'cause he doesn't know how I do it."

Gojyo laughed boisterously. "Then this should really be an interesting game!"

He grinned widely at Wolfwood. "I don't blame him. Cheating at cards is a useful skill."
