Thank you! I was a little worried at first, but now I think I'm hitting my stride. At least, I hope I am. ;)

Ooooo. A mystic! I do hope Buffy treads carefully this time. Perhaps that's not so much in the Slayer DNA, though. The danger presented by the grippe was very clearly drawn. I wonder why it was so much more dangerous then? It's not like antibiotics make any difference. Hmmmm. Still, it can be pretty dangerous now...

A little caution would be nice, but this is Buffy, so... ;)

Everything I've read indicates that hygiene and nutrition were major contributing factors to 19th and early 20th century influenza epidemics, and that the death tolls were often due, in part, to secondary infections. Now that people in developed countries are cleaner and eating better, their bodies are more capable of fighting off the illness. And, should any secondary infections develop, antibiotics are available to combat them.

You're right though. It can still be pretty nasty.

Well, now....a fortune teller who knows what she came for. And an enterprising woman, at that, lol.

Buffy's a pretty social and active girl by nature, so even though she doesn't want to slay here, her days must feel like they're generally filled with nothing. She probably missed The Bronze almost as much as her friends.

So funny that she dreads talking to William, since he's harmless as a fly and probably generous to a fault. He'd have no reason to think she was lying about her sister, so, understanding the bond of family, will lend at least that much to Buffy.

Well, nobody likes to just give it away for free. :P

I agree. In FtTP, I think it was one of the reasons she fell in love with William so easily. They were both outcasts, and they were both lonely; it seemed only natural that they gravitate to one another. I didn't want to go the same route with this story because she's going to stay in the past permanently. The last thing I want is for readers to come away with the impression that William is a creeper taking advantage of her isolation.

Oooo - new plots!

I really like the idea of Buffy feeling most comfortable hanging out with the grooms and Matthew - I feel like she's got to miss being able to be frank and funny in social situations. Now she just has to figure out that William would be a good person to hang out with too, if she can just get him to loosen up a bit... ;) She obviously doesn't understand much about him yet if she thinks she is going to have to kowtow.

No, I don't think she's given William much of a chance. Since I'm removing all the creepy foreshadowing from FtTP, I thought I needed to replace it with a different type of tension. So in this story, she isn't going to be quite as willing to accept being stuck in the past. At least not yet. ;)
