What a strange Christmas it was this year! From forgetting to grocery shop and having to scrounge around in the kitchen for food, to sleeping in until nearly 11:00... it was off-beat BUT fun. We've just enjoyed having all the kids together. This is the first year without Parker and holidays are when we get to feel like our old selves again. Now... ( Read more... )

Love it! And, of course, I have a theology question. What made you decide on NIV? I **LOVED** NIV84 (with it's theological errors and all - I at least knew what the errors were and could correct them), but the inclusive language of the new NIV made me stay away from it when looking with my bigs for their Bibles. R picked an ESV (with the world's tiniest print... oh my goodness!) and M picked an NKJV study Bible (steered that way as that's the translation that Geof's confirmation materials use, but R's doing just fine with ESV). Bible translations are always such a (necessary) headache for me, and I know you take this stuff seriously, too.

But I'll wait for my answer until you get back from visiting the SEMINARY with your SON!!!!

SEMINARY!!! I'm just so excited. I need to make a whole post about it. :D

I chose that one simply because it was blue and in our price range. How's that for being spiritual?! Honestly, at her age, interpretation comes from Jeff and me. As she ages, and we invest in a study bible, I'll make a more sound decision.

Viva la NIV84!!

Merry Christmas!

Can't believe Mabry is 11 already! I remember when she was born :)
