Parker is always pretty easy. Books and coffee and video games do the trick every time. It’s been crazy watching him mature as a husband and dad. His heartbeat is for his family and his faith. I couldn’t ask for more.

This year we went back to our old school format of not asking the kids for ideas. They didn’t really like giving them, and Jeff and I really prefer being able to have a date night where we discuss the kids and choose gifts we think represent their year of interests or their general personality. Ahhh, it's that time of year again. I'm basically doing this for Genevieve, but I do love the ability to look back in time and see what the kids have been interested in as they grew. What a strange Christmas it was this year! From forgetting to grocery shop and having to scrounge around in the kitchen for food, to sleeping in until nearly 11:00... it was off-beat BUT fun. We've just enjoyed having all the kids together. This is the first year without Parker and holidays are when we get to feel like our old selves again. Now... ( Read more... )

Today has been so nice! Very laid-back and low-key... exactly what I needed. The kids are pumped about their gifts and we're now just waiting on the food to be done so we can eat some yummy "Lupper" (lunch/supper). So while we wait, I figured I'd get this list made for posterity!

And while we were trying to recall what everyone received, we had the idea of checking the pictures on Facebook... yeah, I never edited the pictures either. But at least I have them!
