Would you know his answer already, Naoya? He tilts his head a bit, lightly inquisitive. It's not unexpected, but that's still kind of sudden.]

You could tell from the moment we first met, but you've learned my circumstances too, since. It does become somewhat obvious once you know, doesn't it? [/scratches head.] ...Though my answer would probably be pretty typical, either way.

Free will is what makes humans human, isn't it? Sure, they make mistakes...but overall, I think that's what makes them interesting. If everyone thought and acted the same, then what would be the point of living?
What I...wish to protect?
I want to protect my friends. They've stood by me, no matter what has happened. That means everything to me. Standing by them is the least I can do.

Without free will, thought and emotion will become somewhat meaningless. It's not to say creatures without free will don't have emotions, but their capacity for judgement becomes limited to what they are told is right or wrong. Humans can fall prey to the same thinking, but they can also resist, or break free of it. They have potential, and that cannot be allowed to be hindered or stripped away.

Enough to waste breath over a question this ludicrous? A farce, surely. Have you truly received a single answer to which a mongrel is senseless enough to forfeit his free will?
