Office Hours [Friday]

Aug 10, 2007 09:17

Umbrige's office smelled of maple syrup and was covered in glitter this morning. She did not look at all happy about this. And, while she was able to mostly spell the syrup off of her, she still reeked of the syrup and it was still on her clothes in certain places.

Tea was made, both the wand and quill were out, and she was just waiting.

Sam managed to get to Umbridge's office before Dean could come and growl at him to stop him, and the fact that Dean was still a wolf meant Sam was still pissed enough at Umbridge that he didn't find it hard to keep from laughing at the syrup and glitter in her office as he went inside.

"You find something funny?" Umbridge snapped tightly. "Come inside, sit down and be quiet."

"Good morning to you too," Sam replied, sitting down and glaring at her.

"Did I forget my manners?" Umbridge asked, leaning forward. "Too bad. Do you know why you are here?"

The only warning she had was the measured march of footsteps outside her office, then the door slamming back on its hinges.

"Give me one good reason you should still be alive at the end of this meeting," Anakin began as he stepped into the room, eyes blazing with fury.

It wasn't often that Umbridge showed any kind of fear. This time, however, she allowed herself a flash of fear and a startled jump before schooling herself back into a somewhat stoic demeanor.

"Oh dear," she said, attempting to regain her air of disdain, "I'll have to replace my door. Such a bother."

Anakin stared at her, hands clenching into fists at his side. "You hurt my son," he gritted out. "No one gets to do that."

"I was defending myself," she shot back. "He made an attempt to assault me with a chair and I had to defend myself!"

Sometimes during the morning, a small poodle decided to make himself comftorable outside the office door.

Umbridge looked up and glared at the poodle. "I didn't turn anyone into an animal except that one boy. What are you?"

Marco yipped in the poodle's rather high pitched yip. And then just started yipping.

"I am not in the mood for this!" Umbridge exclaimed, glaring more at the poodle. "Whose pet are you?"

Roy easily found his way back to the principals office, remembering where it was from when he visited Zoe. His mood hadn't been all that well the last time he came here, but it was nothing compared to what it was today.

All the years of following orders he didn't agree with were coming in handy right now as his mood didn't show and he knocked on the door.

"Come inside," Umbridge called, not looking up from her parchment and quill.

Roy quickly scanned the room, noting that Aly should have warned him for the glitter too before his look came to rest on Umbridge.

"Acting principal Umbridge I presume," he said. "I'm Sheriff Roy Mustang."

"Headmaster Umbridge, if you please," she said, nodding once. "A pleasure, Mister Mustang."

Oh, look, Steve was back. And he wasn't happy. "We need to talk, lady."

"I'm busy," she snapped, far too...well, she just didn't want to deal with him again. "Schedule another time."

"No," said Steve, continuing to loom in the doorway. "We're talking now. I spoke to a student yesterday who hasn't had any bones in her fingers for two days. Three now, unless they've grown back since I last saw her. You wouldn't know anything about that, would you?"

"Not at all," she said, barely paying attention. "Perhaps she fell and injured herself. How devastating that must be for her."
