links and Hellsing

First: this is painfully funny. (The most bizarre "English" I've ever seen. Already linked out of hysteriachan, so some of you may have seen it before.)

Second: This post on lj_biz is *not* so funny. I haven't quite figured out what I think yet, but I plan to comment. LJ is considering adding advertising, albeit in a selective way, and they're looking for ( Read more... )

I'm with the one poster: I was keeping myself fairly cool and composed until I hit the line about duck bukkake, and then - thank goodness I wasn't drinking anything, or I'd have Coke'd my keyboard.

I'm actually one of the few people on earth who liked the TV anime. Despite the fact that it had virtually nothing to do with the manga and had serious problems ( ... )

I really do want to rewatch the tv series now. ^^

SD stuff almost never works for me, even in comedies (in anime, I mean--I agree that it works better in manga). And I totally wasn't expecting it in Hellsing . . .

I had noticed the Walter fixation, yes. ^^ He's kickass.

Ads on LJ? Bleck.. One thing I respected about LJ, gone, I guess. But I suppose I don't blame them. \: I really like how they want to give everyone options, though.. I just hope that A) Like you said, non-ad seeing people won't see them on other people's journals and B) That the features the free but ad users get aren't too huge.. It would kind of put a damper on people who are paying for all of the nifty features. >.< Oh, and if they come up with an option where you can buy even more icons.. *drool*

Trouble is, under the current plan, free users *will* see ads even if they don't opt for them. The ads will show up for them when they leave their Friends page and go to an individual journal that *is* opting into the ads. :/ As far as I can tell, that's the main complaint among people responding.

The OAV... haven't seen it, but it's funny that you mention the dialogue and designs. I heard the same thing from someone else.

I commented about the advertising on your other journal,so I'm not going to on her. I willsay I feel indifferent about it as of now. I don't know if my feelings willchange in the future though. I guess it depends on how the situation presents itself. Oh, and I agree with the more icon space option. I now I'd use it.

I saw the Hellsing OAV on YouTube, and even though it wasn't the best quality, I still enjoyed it. However, I do want to see what'll happen once they get to the point past where the anime diverged from the manga. OK, I admit, I mostly want to see Pip.
