» De-anon from the kink meme. Original prompt was "Mediterranean nations, love for the Mediterranean." Original fill here. » One-shot » France ; Spain ; Greece ; South Italy ; Egypt ; Turkey » PG-13
Oh wow, I love the different character's reflections and views and sentiments about the Sea, and how in so few sentences you managed to capture these emotions so well <3
The White Sea might actually come from Arabic, as that is the literal translation of what's called, Al-Bahr Al-Abyad. But yeah, I loved the mentions of the nations' cultures in relation to the sea.
yes, the nickname 'the white sea' does indeed come from arabic and i attempted to reference it slightly with egypt's 'white foam' but it's also used in turkey as well (:
Bravo bravo! You've captured the romance of the Mediterranean in a little piece. I like Greece's and Egypts in particular (Mamas ;_;), but all splendid.
The Mediterranean was his paradise and nothing else mattered.
I love how this feeling belongs to all the Mediterranean nations and how they've all witnessed the deaths of others due to the Sea, yet still find comfort in it (as a natural cycle, perhaps?). Very neat. :)
i believe that the nations accept the deaths of others as a natural thing: countries and nations and empires don't last forever. so it is a sad thing to lose their friends and family, but they all accept that it has to happen.
Yes, exactly. Somehow, I think the idea of eventually sinking into the Sea is comforting to the Mediterranean nations because they know her so well. Plus, they'll be returning to their mothers. c:
Ah, I've had this icon for AGES and I still love it so so much. ♥
wow, this was stunning! There is something dreadful and stunningly beautiful about death, France thinks, and as he compares the shades of colour between his wine cup and the ocean, the face of a Corsican general passes through his mind. I loved this part, it was very evocative and a pensive France is something I adore in fandom :) I loved everything about this, but South Italy deserves a special mention, being from the Eternal City myself. that part reminded me the days spent on the beach since childhood... sometimes the Mediterraneo can truly be a paradise. good work!!
*strangles pillow in fangirl joy* Thissss. is so pretty ;A; Love love love how each of them respect / love the Mediterranean in their own way. Just haaa~
