Oh, again, please don't feel discouraged from being a Sages member. I think some people got hot under the collar last night, and hopefully it's resolved, but if you need help or have concerns, let us know. We are telling everyone that, not just you.

Got a question.

Now, I've only read a little of 'The Ultimates', as only a few books-mainly the first intro issues-have been turned into graphic novels and put in the library.

...I'm trying to understand how your Cap is such an ass. He's NEVER seemed like this, ever, in ANYTHING I've seen, Ultimate or otherwise.

An explanation would be nice.

just to clear it up alittle bit, the Cap from the ultimates is a very more realisticly done version of him. His answers of course aren't just throw a shield and win a war by not killing anyone, one couldn't have won WW2 like that. He is deinately alittle more darker than normal because after almost 7 decades of fighting it would wear on him. Some of why he seems so dark is the miscomunication IC taking place, and rumors and falsehoods spreading about him. That being said he is a soldier that follows orders to the letter, and who strongly believes in America's leadership. He isn't acting rogue right now, its all on orders. He still sees his actions as heroic, and sees himself being called names like Vietnam vets; done by people who don't understand and won't make the hard choices. After all yes she is 13 years old but she did order Alucard to put his men on spikes. Hope this helped alittle.

In Ultimate-verse, Cap ended up in some sort of suspended-animation thing, rather than just living through like in standard timeline. Hence one of the major things being his getting used to this new time.

At least, that's what I remember.

So...Where does the '7 decades of fighting' come from?

((because all he has done since enlisting has been fight ww2 then get frozen and then fight terrorists, he hasn't managed to do anything else yet. They even mention in the comics that when he is freedom from the ice he still thinks war is going on. still in the mindset.

((Your playing of Captain America reminds me of the Captain America characterized in d_benway's Hell's X. That's not an insult by the way. I think it's a fun if creepy interpretation. :) I don't get the big fuss over it myself.
