The young Cadet had been wandering around yet another new and unfamiliar place when he spotted the blond from behind, and for a moment, he thought he was just seeing things. After all, he had looked everywhere for the SOLDIER in the last world to no avail. It wasn't that he had completely given up hoping to run into him, but Zack had known he wouldn't be able to keep searching. Not when other things had been distracting him not so long ago.

Still, there seemed to be only one way to know who this man was for sure, and that was to speak up, and so taking a moment, he finally spoke up.

"Cloud?"

That voice, far too young to be the Zack from his world. Turned around Cloud saw just what he thought he would find, Zack Fair wearing the cadet uniform. Ahh, so the little boy was still here as well then? Hmm, that could make the time pass faster.

"Cadet." He replied, smirking. "Well, imagine running into you again."

Cloud's response sounded wrong somehow as Zack heard it, but still, he was pretty sure it was really him. He couldn't be wrong about it, right?

"Yeah, I guess so. Where were you?" He asked, rubbing the back of his neck.

The SOLDIER took a few steps foward, mako eyes studying the cadet. After all, it had been a long time since he had seen the boy.

"Back in my world." He replied, smirk still in place. "A lot of time has passed, to the point I thought all this might have been some sort of dream."

She couldn't believe it. She had come to terms with the fact this world was...different, and that this exact situation was entirely possible, but she'd dreaded the thought of it. She'd seen others she knew wandering about, but all of them looked far too young to be the extended family she knew. She simply ignored others, trying every door, hoping to find a way back home to complete her mission, but this? She wanted this but...at the same time ( ... )

Cloud could hear the footsteps coming and his hand went to the grip of Advent just in case. Mako green eyes looked over his company, a young girl he had never seen before...though there was something familiar about her. She seemed to be of no threat, though the SOLDIER did notice the signs that she was hiding weapons.

Her question made him raise an eyebrow before his eyes looked out towards where the sun was dipping into the water. "I guess that it is. I've never paid it any mind before." Yes, he was keeping up his act as the honorable SOLDIER for now. It might pay off later.

She nearly broke down at his words. She hadn't expected much more from him than that, really, but just that little bit...maybe she could just pretend she had a friend, even a father, again for awhile. She walked up to stand next to him, closing her eyes and smiling a little.

"Not many people do...then they realise it's too late and they never had the chance to enjoy these things when they had the chance. Everyone's too busy rushing about worrying about themselves that they take everything for granted."

It wasn't until she closed her eyes that he finally released his grip of the sword. For some unknown reason she was letting down her guard in front of him, a rather foolish move since she had no idea who he was. He let out a small laugh at her words. Yes, no one did notice these things, people were too busy to even notice the Planet that they stole from his Mother.

"Yes, because they have this silly idea that it will always be there. One day they'll wake up and see just how wrong they are." One day soon, if Cloud had his way.

Just when she had gotten use to one place, it seemed her world had been shifted yet again. Checking her surrounding, nothing looked familiar, but something certainly felt familiar. Though they had only crossed paths once, she remembered that presence of his. Such a beautiful sight Cloud had become. If only the Cloud she had known had followed suit, things might have worked out in her favor from the start.

"You're looking quite well, dearest." She called out from behind him, a small smile stretching across her lips.

That familiar pull at the cells inside, the feeling that could only be Her. There was times he thought that he had imagine ever seeing Her, but one look was all he needed to know it had been real. Mako eyes glowing bright green, he smiled back, the look of the ever adoring son on his face.

"Mother," He bowed his head because She deserved all his love and respect. "As beautiful as always, even when I thought this place was a dream I kept your image in my mind." Something he loved to hold over Sephiroth, even if the man didn't believe him.

If she had a heart it might have been warmed by such devotion. It made her curious if he had managed to subjugate her counterpart's will, the way Sephiroth had subjugated her. Oh Sephiroth doted upon her and shared her desires, but she was well aware of who was Master and who was the Servant. Not that she minded, she'd do anything for the one who shared her will.

Perhaps this Cloud could manage to inspire the same of her. Only time could tell, but one thing remained certain. He intrigued her, and that made him worth her time.

"Such a good son," she said with a smile. "I'm pleased to see you again." She added, walking toward him with an outstretched hand. She just needed to touch him to get a better sense of him.

Her voice had only grown stronger as time past, something that pleased him greatly. Sephiroth loved to remind the blond that he wasn't Jenova's true son and for now he allowed the other to get away with it. He was set on proving himself to his Mother, to make Her see that he was more worthy of her attention than the former General. That bastard thought Her love belonged solely to him, so Cloud worked extra hard for Her attention.

Her words only made him smile more, Her praise was all he truly wanted in the world. Her smile, that outstretched hand, it made him almost wish the Sephiroth from his world was here so he could rub it in his face. "I'm glad, Mother." He placed his hand into Hers, the cells singing so wonderful at the contact. "My only wish is for you to be happy."
