Thanks to those who commented on my last post, I guess I was just having a moment of self loathing.

My trouble is I'm so paranoid and insecure. I do make my vids because I enjoy it, but the ones I make that show the progress I'm making I do, not just for me, but to show to others how well I'm doing, so they can share in my joy. I guess what set off ( Read more... )

I missed your last posts - so I've just gone back for a squizz.

I'm glad you've decided to continue with the vids,I always watch them (unless I miss 'em!) and I think you've been making great progress.

I was intrigued to see the beer festival (which vid I've just watched) 'cos they have one in Norwich everyyear and it's a big thing, but I've never been (don't like beer!) so was curious to see what it's like.

As for books..

I recommend:
Terry Pratchett - fantasy/satire
Reginal Hill - Dalziel and Pascoe
Val Mcdermid - Tony HIll
Harlan Coben, Michael Ramsbotham, pj tracy - thrillers
Christopher Brookmyre - satire/mystery - VERY GOOD
Patricia Anthony - Flanders - a beautiful WW1 story
Pat Barker - The Regeneration Trilogy - WW1 again
Elizabeth Knox - The Vintner's Luck - LOVELY

There you go - my standard recommendation package!

~~

I hope you're feeling better now. x x

Oh thank you so much for the recs. I'm making a list for my mum of books I want for my birthday. I have a few Terry Pratchett Books, but really want to read Soul Music. *Loves Death stories.*

I am feeling better now and feeling a little bad for being so emo.

I love the Death books (nice icon!) but my favourite are The Watch -well Samual Vimes actually - he's one of my 'literary crushes'.

I have Wyrd Sisters and didn't get into it. So I've been put off reading any of the witch ones.

I agree with Lolabobs, the Watch (as opposed to the Witches, lol) are the BEST Discworld characters. And like Lolabobs, I adore ADORE Samual Vimes.

I tend to read them in groupings - so although it takes me a few extra chapters to get into the witch books it's worth the extra effort, cos I know I'm going to work my way through all of them! They're not my faves though.

I like the 'stand alone' books too - Going POstal and Monstrous Regiment for example.

Night Watch is my absolute favourite though.

I really liked Going Postal. I've heard of the Night Watch and might read some of them.

Read Night Watch, and then you will understand about the lilacs that I've been posting about.
