Last Tuesday after work at 1800, Todd and I drove 2.5 hours to Edenton, NC and stayed at Hampton Inn. The next morning the family gathered for grandma's viewing and funeral service. The graveside was around 1530 then snacks back at the church. My cousin put together and played a slide show with music from grandma's life. Todd and I changed clothes

I let slip to T's mom that T and I didn't want kids and she flipped. I walked on eggshells the rest of the night! Both of his parents were pretty mad after that.

i can't believe they were mad at you! it's YOUR womb! i mean, you have cats, can't that be enough?!

i get a lot of the 'grandchildren' talk from chris' mom. i honestly can not see my parents (especially my mother) being grandparents. i don't think they'd know what to do. they'd suddenly realise they are old and flip out. i think my family might be a bad environment for children.

His parents are super-conservative and automatically assumed that he and I plan on getting married and making babies. T had not told them his thoughts on kids; there's A LOT he hasn't told them. Anyway, he and I are talking marriage one day. We're also talking about buying a house next summer. I've been certain as long as I've had independent thought that I don't want kids; him the same. His parents assumed something else entirely. It's sad for them since he's their only child but I might adopt. I will be getting a dog and they are dog people. Hopefully Todd's and my happiness will be enough for them...down the road.

Stir crazy is a new restaurant on MacArthur Ave off Laburnum. Awesome place.

Apparently I shall not be joining you for watching things today! Belated Thankgiving at Drew's dad's extended further into the evening then anticipated, and I am now home and my stomach is still full of items.

I'm afraid I'm gonna have to decline on the Fallout. I'm all Fallouted out for the time being!

I do need to hairyass you on Christmas caroling action, however. Were we gonna try to get that on this month? If so, we gotsta get a date and start letting people know! I've still got the song printouts from last year...somewhere...hmm, I suppose I should find those.
