I definitely think I'm going to like Recovery Week. Core Cardio and Balance is such a nice change from the last four weeks. For one, I am not sucking wind in the middle of the workout. For another, I'm not drenched in a puddle of sweat. Core Cardio and Balance, however, is not without it's own pitfalls.
I have a new arch nemesis and its name is the plie with shoulder workouts. A plie is like a squat position but with your knees set a little wider, that way you are also working the groin area. Now, in this position, you are just sitting in the plie and your arms are out wide and you are doing things like pulsing your arms up and down, and then moving them in front of you and back out wide, and then straight up and back out wide. And did I mention that you are still in this messed up plie position? Oh, and this is going on for like 3 minutes. Yeah, this isn't fun at all. Also, it is the last workout of the session. So, while Core Cardio and Balance is a little less intense, there are also some high intensity workouts like the "Level 1 exercises" and "Moving Planks."
Anyway, after complaining about morning workouts and praising evening workouts all last week, it looks like I may have to switch to morning workouts all week this week. With Nicole visiting and my apartment a mess, the only time I really have to clean up is after work. Plus, with my godson's birthday on Thursday and my sister throwing a family dinner thing for him, the morning is the only time I have to workout. So, be warned, I may bitch about morning workouts again. Lucky for me, I do like Core Cardio and Balance, so this might not completely suck.
30 days down.
