I read that earlier (because I too, had to look her up). I don't think its that we're becoming a nation of close-minded hypocrites, rather that with our choices so limited in this two-party system, there's no way to break free without giving up what little comfort those who cling to that system still find in it.

I think you’re a kinder person then I am. While I recognize what you are saying about the general public refusing to abandon the two party system because its familiar I can’t defend them.

What’s ironic, or sad, is that their reluctance doesn’t appear to be because they dislike the alternative parties its because they’re terrified the party they dislike the most R/D might gain an advantage if the Green-Libertarians-Patriots-Constitution parties grow and their dislikes about whatever party is based off of spin.

As a nation we seem to refuse to look beyond what ever surface argument supports our opinions. Some of that is human nature true, but at what point does an individual say bullshit and begin to examine what is happening?

I'm the choir to your priest in this scenario and couldn't begin to answer your question. I think it would be inaccurate and arrogant of me to believe I'm smarter than 90% of the populations around me - that somehow I understand something they don't - yet here we find ourselves.

I honestly don't know. I can't even comprehend it.

I don’t think it’s an intelligence thing at all.

I believe it may just be personality driven, at least right now I do, many just aren’t inclined to take the extra steps. How do we get them there?

I’m telling you, if I ever become wealthy - in that fantasy world I’m going to school and take nothing but sociology, history and psychology classes.
