Decaffinated Revolutions vs. Religious Wars.

What is wrong with the acknowledgement that there may be an element of truth even within the oppressors of humanity?

Well, I'm not done with this yet. He goes on to why Robespierre is still vital and important. I'm really not so clear with what he's saying - hoping that the comic will clear things up for me. Then I'll have to re-write it all.

It's all by hand and then scanned in. Even if I had a Wacom, I'm not sure I would draw straight into the computer. I really like the way the hand and pen/pencil leaves a trace.

Yeah, I know, but it IS expensive and I like the look of pen and ink better.

I am still slogging through the Zizek and taking notes. Thus far (I'm halfway in), it seems he is arguing for a new leftist embrace of radical terror as the true embodiment of ethics.

I'm enjoying this whole "divine violence" thing. I don't know if it will catch on or not, but it's a nice try. It's the best name I've seen for those thrilling spontaneous explosions of state smashing terror.

This has also got my cogs turning about Kosovo's "independence", Kenya's forthcoming "peace treaty" and lots more stuff. OK, I'll be back after I finish the rest!

Yeah, I think this 'comic' is really just my version of notes. I really should wait until I digest it some more.

Shit, that seems like a shorter version of what I read. Or maybe it just looks shorter. Going to read that, see if it's more clear.

i recently read badiou's the century (haven't read this zizek book, but i think i've heard this song from him before)... anyway, i have MAJOR problems with this idea of a "passion of the real" for three reasons ( ... )

I agree, but I'm not done yet, and what I have so far is a disservice to the full essay. A rough version of the essay is HERE and I just haven't finished distilling it and turning it into comics.

I'll write more in a bit.

Me too! I'm almost done taking notes and feel like I have a good command of it now. I might just re-start the comic review.
