Every time I make a post I feel like I should start off by apologizing even though I know it's stupid because no one really cares if I don't post for a long ass time. It's not like I don't post anywhere. I just easily neglect this journal. Maybe because I feel like there's no specific purpose. It's just a general diary type dealie and I've never ( Read more... )

I think the hardest part of wanting to change is realizing that it is also a need. One can want to do something for a long time and never do it because other things are more practical or make more sense. But when that want becomes a need it is a little easier to do. Recognizing that can be hard. I think, that if you want to turn this into your daily progress - do it. Just start what you can. Every journey is started with a single step and all that.

I'd love to see some classical architecture drawing, just as a side note.

As for writing and writer's block. I've found the best thing is to sit and write even if you can't think of anything. Just write whatever comes to mind. Sometimes getting out things like that lets you focus a little easier on what you want to write. Can't say it works for everyone, but, I figure just doing some writing (even if you're writing "no idea what to write" it gets your brain moving) helps.

That's a very good point. I think I somehow got into the habit of viewing future goals as more of a fantasy rather than an actual need. I guess I should start reprogramming my brain...

I have no problem with free writing off the top of my head. I think I have more difficulty focusing on the subject at hand. I tend to go randomly off topic quite a bit when I ramble on.

It's all a work in progress, just have to keep working on it. I know you can do it!

Perhaps when freewriting you should pick a topic then. And then write everything you know about the topic. If you're having trouble focusing don't worry too much about it. Just write. You can fix the rambling and such in the editing and revising.
