Summary: Ueda dared himself lie to Johnny and everyone just because to help Ryo to keep on in two groups. Could he help Ryo with big lies that he even didn’t believe it himself? Did Ryo want to get along with Ueda’s lie? Could the lies change their fate from a couple of enemy to something different? Let’s find out.

Ueda didn’t know how long he cried last night. After crying like forever, he tried to get a cab to go home and he continued crying in his bed without finding any good reason why he was acting like he lost his lover or something. He just felt like crying that time and let himself down until his soul sank completely into a deep slumber. When he woke up the next morning he didn’t feel well enough to go to work but KAT-TUN had a tight schedule for the day so he lazily climbed off of his bed, took a really long shower and spent two hours trying to hide his puffy eyes with make-up and luckily his skills succeeded in covering that.

On the way to KAT-TUN’s dressing room, Ueda kept thinking about what happened last night. He didn’t understand why he cried; of course he never wanted to admit it was because of Ryo. He guessed he just blamed himself very hard for all that had happened and thinking if he didn’t punch him Ryo might have just be resting in his bed, not at the hospital. But Ryo has to be blamed too because he insulted his family so it’s not only his fault. Then, Ueda wondered why he’s always very weak and sensitive when  it’s something concerning the shorter man. Yes, he hated Ryo, but seeing him in his vulnerable state made his heart felt something. It might be pity, but he wasn’t sure because somehow it made him feel a little worried too and he quickly threw away that thought because there’s no way he would worry about him. Ueda stopped right in front of KAT-TUN’s dressing room, he took a deep breath before opening the door and he didn’t even step in one pace when he gasped, finding Kame already standing at the door and glaring at him.

“What the hell do you think you were doing last night, huh?!!?” yelled Kame straight to Ueda’s face. His face flushed red in anger.

“Ehh??” Ueda didn’t get what was the younger talking about. Maru and Koki who were already in the room looked at them in curiosity because it’s the first time Kame had yelled in the morning, especially to Ueda, his best friend. The two had never argued before so they were more than eager to know what it is they were arguing about.

“You almost gave me a heart attack! You suddenly disappeared and you didn’t answer my calls!” yelled Kame again.

Ueda didn’t speak for a while to register what Kame means. He blinked several times as he was thinking then he ‘oh’-ed inwardly when he finally realized what it was. He remembered he ran away last night without telling anything to Kame, Pi, and Jin. Thinking of it, of course he didn’t do it because it couldn’t be called running away if he was announcing it to the others, but seeing how angry Kame is now made him feel so guilty. Kame surely worried about him, wondering where he was and why he disappeared although he already had Ryo’s condition to worry about, much like Pi and Jin.

“I’m so sorry Kame,” Ueda apologized.

Kame sighed. He tried to calm himself. Maru left his seat, walked to the two men who kept blocking the door. He patted Kame’s shoulder then asked, “What’s wrong?”

“Nothing,” answered Kame as he settled himself on the couch in the middle of the room, ignoring the confused looks of Maru and Koki, minus Junno who didn’t even let his eyes from his PSP. Kame rested his head at the backrest of the couch, caressed his forehead then looked at Ueda who was still standing at the door. “Ne, Tat-chan, I’m sorry for yelling at you. I think I’m stressed because I didn’t sleep last night and I wanted to let out the frustration from my heart so badly. Sorry.”

Ueda just nodded while Maru scratched his hair, confused.

“So Tat-chan, just sit next to me please,” said Kame with a soft voice, not angry anymore. His face wasn’t tense any more and more relaxed. He patted the space of the couch next to where he sat. Ueda complied and plopped himself next to him.

Maru came back to sit in the chair he left as Koki started speaking, “ Are you in need of my help in  punching Jin, Kame??”

“Excuse me?” said Kame perplexed.

They focused their attention to the rapper now.

“Hm.. what I got from the conversation is that you didn’t sleep last night and you are being so weird today and that always happens because of that Baka. Well, although I don’t know how that connects to Uepi,” Koki said.

“So?” Kame frowned, not understanding what Koki meant while Ueda and Maru were so patient in waiting for the rapper’s explanation.

Koki hesitated at first but upon seeing how curious they were he couldn’t help but spit it out. “I guess Jin was unbelievably rough and wild to you last night, nee,” Koki said and it took almost one minute for them to understand what Koki was talking about.

Junno paused his game then looked at them for the first time today just to see Kame’s reaction to Koki’s statement. Junno giggled as Kame blushed hard and was flustered in the same time. Maru gasped and stared at Kame in shock, thinking whether it’s true or not. Ueda who knew it’s totally wrong just shut his mouth, amazed at Kame’s reaction. If you looked at him seriously his face really showed how shocked he was hearing his friends wonder about his sex life with Jin last night. How could Koki think so dirty like that? Kame couldn’t help but feel scandalized.

“It’s not like that, Koki. You pervert!!” Kame threw his bag towards Koki who caught it and succeeded in dodging it.

“Woooooo, Kame, Your reaction is different from what you just said!” Koki chuckled.

“So, if you’re not weird because of Jin, then why are you being weird today and where is that Baka?” said Maru who succeed in recovering from his shock and tried to ignore Koki who chuckled and was rolling on the floor now.

On the other hand, Ueda was more amazed in watching Koki’s antics, but after he noticed that Kame isn’t able to answer Maru’s question because he’s too busy hiding his blush, he let Koki chuckle alone then answered, “I think Jin is still in hospital now.” Ueda looked at Kame for assurance. “Right, Kame?”

Kame tried to act as cool as he could although his face was still pink. “Yeah, I was with him in the hospital last night and it’s the reason why I couldn’t sleep there. Gee, Koki how could you say we had sex so eeerrr….. whatever,” said Kame, uncomfortable and irritated as he recalled what Koki said.

“Eh? What are you two doing in the hospital? Don’t tell me you’re pregnant with Jin’s child so you had to have a check-up,” asked Maru, more shocked than before and completely misunderstanding everything. Koki’s chuckles got louder as Kame smacked Maru’s head with all his might and his face became as red as a tomato. He couldn’t believe Maru said that. He wondered what drugs Maru and Koki consumed last night that caused them to be so incredibly ridiculous today. Ueda had to prevent Kame in smacking the sense into Maru who held his bruised head and had tears in the corner of his eyes. Ueda bet Kame’s smack was so strong if Maru seemed so miserable like that.

Koki felt that it was the time to end his chuckling and got up from the ground and proceeded to kneel beside the couch and rested his arm and chin on the armrest as he stared at Kame who pouted hard. In the bottom of his heart he thought he was so lucky Kame just threw him with his bag in revenge for acting stupidly instead of throwing him with a chair, table or even Maru, okay scratch Maru because if Kame could lift him up and throw him to Koki it means that it’s the end of the world or it must be an alien controlling Kame’s body. Koki shook his bald head for the thought and tried to ask Kame with a worried tone this time.

“Kame, please tell us why you and Jin were in the hospital last night. Is Jin sick?” said Koki.

Kame sighed as he thought his friends finally got their senses back again. Kame shook his head, his honey brown hair moving in his gesture. “No, it’s not Jin. It’s Nishikido,” Kame said.

“Nishikido??” said Koki and Maru who totally forgot about Kame’s smack accident at the same time.

“Does this mean Nishikido is really sick?” Maru went into serious mode. He wasn’t that close to Ryo but he couldn’t help but worry if there’s someone he knew who’s sick and hospitalized now.
“He collapsed after I punched him,” answered Ueda who hung his face like yesterday.

Ueda lifted his face up immediately when he heard Koki, Maru and Junno, who only god knows when he involved himself in their conversation, screaming their lungs out, “EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEHHHHHHHHHH??????
?!!!!”

They of course knew the rumours about how scary and strong Ueda’s punch is, but they never expected that he could send people to the hospital after punching them. It seriously creeped them out. Upon seeing their reaction, Ueda quickly explained. “No, no, no!! You got me wrong guys. Yes, I did punch him but he didn’t collapse because of my punch. He was sick before I did that to him. He fainted and his nosebleed didn’t stop so they had to send him to the hospital.”

Koki sighed hard. He placed his hand in his chest, still feeling his heart beating so fast. “Awww, You scared the hell out of me, Tat-chan. I thought it was true!”

“So how is Nishikido’s condition now?” asked Junno who surprisingly got over his shock more quickly than the others. Koki was still shocked with his heart pounding really hard and near bursting. His eyes were wide open. His reactions succeeded in making Kame burst out laughing. Now the sound of his laugh echoed the room. Well, they were amazed for a while watching him laugh because it’s the first time Kame looked so happy today. But they lost patience as Kame continued laughing hard so to silence him, they stared at him like hungry puppies begging permission to eat their food. Kame gave in, not because of their puppy act because Koki looked so awful doing that, but because he felt tired of laughing and he didn’t want to explain the details so he rested his back on the couch, searching for a good angle and when he felt more comfortable he started telling Ryo’s condition with a brief explanation.

“Kamee~~,” suddenly Koki whined right before Kame talked. He didn’t want to wait even more for his explanation.

Kame’s eyes widened in disgust; “Stop acting like a cute puppy, Koki. You must know your act seriously doesn’t match with your criminal face!” complained Kame and Koki fake-cried and put on a hurt expression that couldn’t be recognized as fake. He just couldn’t understand why people always complained if he tried to act cute.

Maru shoved the sulking Koki aside then forced Kame to start his explanation. “Just tell us, Kame!”

Kame rubbed his forehead again. “He still hasn’t woken up and his tension very low. Jin and Pi are in the hospital taking care of him.” Kame said and sighed in the end.

“I guess he finally can’t stand his work. You know, being in two groups means he has double activities too. I’m not surprised he collapsed,” said Maru.

Koki agreed with Maru. “Sometimes I’m jealous of him but sometimes I pity him too. I hope he’s alright,” said Koki, his voice sounding so worried.

They were damn surprised hearing that from Koki’s mouth. Nobody spoke for a while and Koki frowned, “Hey, I’m not mean like him. I’m a good guy, you know!”

“Yeah,” said Maru indifferently and he looked at Kame again. Koki was pouting and stomping his feet like a child but everyone in the room chose to ignore him. “Can we visit him today?” asked Maru.

Kame shrugged. “I don’t think so. We have a tight schedule for today; rehearsal and shooting for Cartoon KAT-TUN. I guess we can go tomorrow.” Kame said then looked at his watch. He winced in his seat. “Oh no, guys, We are late for the rehearsal!”

With that they had to run to go to the rehearsal room but their conversation about Ryo didn’t stop anyway. On the way, Kame tried to check their schedule for tomorrow and he smiled, “Hey guys, we can visit him tomorrow!”

Like Kame expected his co-members said ‘YES’ in excitement.

“Honestly, I want to see the weak side of Nishikido. It would be very interesting!” said Koki as he put his arm around Ueda’s shoulders. Ueda frowned and thought whether it’s the only reason why he was so willing to go see his enemy. Koki was grinning when he whispered to him, “Ne Uepi, how did you feel when you see Nishikido very weak? I think later you can laugh at him about it as your revenge for all that he has done to you. I bet his pride is already broken before he becomes conscious of that because we could all see his weakness now.” Koki smirked evilly, not noticing that Ueda didn’t speak in reply.

Ueda was too busy with his own thoughts. Yes, he had seen Ryo in his vulnerable condition that clearly showed him how weak he was. What he saw yesterday somehow made him a little sad. He didn’t know why. Yes, he hated Ryo very much but he just couldn’t ignore his slight worry for him. He knows it’s crazy but unfortunately it’s true. He wondered how the hell he could have a feeling like that for the younger man.

The next day, after the rehearsal, the rest of KAT-TUN quickly packed their stuff in their dressing room so that they could visit Ryo before the visiting time in the hospital ended. Jin was so happy when Kame called him and told him the rest of KAT-TUN would visit Ryo. He couldn’t help but cry feeling touched that they wanted to visit Ryo although Ryo wasn’t their band mate and wasn’t close to them and even though they hated Ryo for his behaviour towards their princess, Ueda. So today he tried to do the rehearsal seriously so their rehearsal could end as fast as possible, making everyone surprised and proud at him who finally forgot about his usual rituals when rehearsing like messing around or forgetting his steps that caused the rehearsal to be hell-like if choreographer-san exploded, losing his nerve because of Jin.

“Come on guys! We have to go to the hospital quickly!  I don’t want Ryo-chan to wake up alone!” said Jin loudly, he was almost running to leave them but luckily Kame gripped his hand to prevent him from doing so.

“Calm down Jin. We are tired. Don’t waste energy panicking,” said Kame.

Jin wanted to reply but after noticing the others’ tired faces he realized it’s bad to act egoistic. Yes, they finished their rehearsal faster than before but it kept making them tired too because today they learned the new dance of their next PV so it felt more difficult and tiring.

Jin managed to calm himself down as he stared at them, fidgeting. “Ehm.. guys, are you ready?” asked him nervously.

“Yes, Jin. We can go now,” answered Maru and the others smiled at him.

Kame smiled too as he saw Jin’s face was shining again and a huge smile was plastered on his face. Jin led them until they arrived at the hospital. In there they met the other five members of NEWS. Jin ran to Pi, asking whether Ryo had wakened.

Pi shook his head and said, “He’s still sleeping.” Pi flopped himself on the plastic chairs outside Ryo’s room. He looked very tired, so different from Jin who was still energetic although Pi and Jin were almost always in the hospital since Ryo collapsed. Jin sat next to him and rested his head on Pi’s shoulder.

“I miss his voice, Pi. A day without him yelling is so strange,” mumbled Jin.

They felt the same as Jin and agreed with that. They had always wanted Ryo to shut up but when he didn’t talk it felt weird.

“Jin, you want to see him with us?” asked Koki, his hand was on the doorknob to Ryo’s room, ready to get in because he wanted to see Ryo’s weak condition so badly.

“No, I want to be with Pi. You guys can see him without me,” said Jin.

“Okay,” said Koki cheerfully, making people think he’s happy seeing people sick. He nodded at NEWS’ members for permission and went in with Kame, Maru and Junno.

“Why don’t you go in too?” asked Shige because Ueda didn’t move an inch. Shige was the only one who noticed that because Tegoshi, Koyama and Massu were still shocked after visiting Ryo. Pi and Jin just closed their eyes, looking like they’re taking a nap.

Shige stood beside Ueda. He said, “I know he was very mean to you. Hell, he was mean to me too, but it’s not wrong to worry about him, right? He needs our support now. Nee, Ueda-kun?” he looked at Ueda who seemed confused with his own feelings.

After a long silence, Ueda nodded. He opened Ryo’s room and walked in, but he was confused because nobody was saying a word. Kame, Maru, Junno and Koki only stared at the sleeping Ryo. Koki wasn’t smiling like he was a minute ago. He just stood next to Ryo’s bed.

“He is still in the same condition, just sleeping,” said Kame, seemingly to himself. He looked at Ueda who was already standing next to him, near Ryo’s bed.

It’s the first time Ueda saw Ryo so close in bed since the accident and it’s really a bad move because he could see how helplessly Ryo was. Ueda’s face was unreadable as his heart was torn between sadness and happiness because Ryo looked so small and weak in front of him.

“I don’t know he could look so pale and desperate like this,” said Maru, couldn’t stop staring at Ryo. It seemed like he wanted to keep the view in his memory for forever.

And then Koki asked a ridiculous question. “Who is he??” he pointed his index finger straight in front of Ryo’s pale face. The others couldn’t help but gasp in shock.

“What do you mean, Koki? Of course he is Nishikido!” answered Kame who was thinking Koki really took silly drugs last night so his brain wasn’t functioning anymore.

“But, but, but, this man is very pale and weak and aaaarrrgh whatever!” Koki kept pointing his finger to Ryo. “We all know Ryo is a man who has a poison-tongue, is very mean, a narcissist, egoist, heartless and bla - bla - bla, exactly not like this!!”

Kame started to worry about him. “Koki, he is Nishikido,” said Kame to convince Koki.

“But … but …,” Koki was at a loss for words. The weak Ryo really made him shocked. He just couldn’t accept it was real.

“Stop that ‘but’s and what are you pointing at? If you don’t want me to bite your freaking finger, get it off of my face, damn it! NOW!” yelled a familiar voice.

All of them turned to face the sleeping figure in bed. Their mouths hung open at the sudden yell from Ryo. Ryo slowly opened his eyes. He always becomes pissed off when he feels someone point a finger at him while he’s sleeping, so he forced himself to get out of his deep slumber to beat that someone who dared to do that to him. For god’s sake nobody was allowed to point their damn finger at him!! Especially in front of his gorgeous face!!

Ryo blinked several times to adjust his vision. He looked at the people around his bed but he didn’t recognize them because of his still-blurry eyes. Ryo’s eyes finally focused and wasn’t blurry anymore when he looked straight at Ueda. And, well, in a second his poison-tongue was ON.

“WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINKING YOU ARE DOING, HUH??! WHY DO I HAVE TO SEE YOUR DONKEY FACE WHEN I OPEN MY EYES??? STAY AWAY FROM MY SIGHT!!!!!!” yelled Ryo, greatly succeeding in making the four people around him jump in surprise and become even more shocked. How could someone who was just unconscious yell so loud like that? Besides, he even insulted people in his state!

Pi, Jin and the rest of NEWS rushed into Ryo’s room after a really loud yell from Ryo. Jin didn’t waste any time, pulling Ryo into a hug and started to cry.

Ryo gasped, “What the???!”

“WHHHHHUUUUUUAAAAA, RYO-CHAN IS BACK!!” cried Jin between sobs and laughs.

Ryo struggled very hard because Jin’s hug was dangerously so tight that it made Ryo struggle for air. The others panicked, seeing Ryo’s skin flushed red. He needed air or else he would die in his best friend’s hug but all of their efforts failed as Jin was too strong and too happy to let go of him. Feeling that he was on the verge of dying Ryo managed to say something that he trusted would make Jin mad and let go of him instantly.

“LET. ME. GO. JIN. DON’T. DARE. TO. HUG. ME. WITH. YOUR. FAT. BODY!!!” said Ryo with his last breath.

Jin released his hug completely and pouted. “I’m not fat!!!” wailed Jin. Usually, he ignored whoever called him fat but if Ryo was the one who said that he felt really hurt. It felt like Ryo saw him as a big pig, but he didn’t because only Massu was compared to a pig by Ryo. The differences might be Massu was an energetic pig while he was a lazy pig and he seriously didn’t want his best friend looking down on him like that.

“Yes you are, Jin!” said Ryo after he filled his burning lungs. Thank god Ryo didn’t kill him so Jin didn’t protest more. Besides, he had already accepted many smacks on the head from almost all of the people in the room, totally angry with his baka act which almost sent Ryo to his grave!

But Jin somehow couldn’t admit his baka mistake. He was so worried for him and he was happy he finally woke up but what he got wasn’t a happy smile from his best friend but an insult about his nice body and he even got smacks on the head from them. He couldn’t accept it so he pouted then looked at Ueda. He requested something which he would regret straight after he said that, “Please punch him again, Uebo.”
“Eh?” answered Ueda with a blank face. He’s still in shock.

Ryo’s eyes widened as something flickered in his mind. “Oh yeah,  I think it’s payback time to punch him!” Ryo was going to get off his bed to punch Ueda but Pi and Jin quickly stopped him, where Jin was standing in front of Ueda and Pi grabbed Ryo’s shoulder from behind and pushed him to keep sitting in his bed.

“Ano … Ryo-tan…. You just woke up. Please don’t be angry. You have to rest,” said a worried Tegoshi. His face was full of tears. “I’m glad you finally woke up. Please don’t make us very worried again.”

Ryo frowned. He forgot his anger instantly and it changed to confusion. After he opened his eyes he only focused at Jin and Ueda.  He didn’t realize that there were other people in the room. He could see worry, sadness, shocked, and happiness evident in their eyes. Ryo looked at Pi who rubbed his back to coax him. “What happened, Pi?” asked him, his voice slow now, and then he looked at the crying Tegoshi. “Don’t cry Tego-nyan.”

Tegoshi nodded. He swept his tears with his small hands and said, “You didn’t wake up for two days. We were really worried about you.”

“Two days?” said Ryo in disbelief. He tried to recall everything. He remembered his fight with Ueda but when he felt blood flowing from his nose he couldn’t remember anything after that.

Jin and Pi sat on the opposite sides of Ryo’s bed. The others could see clearly how weak and small Ryo was when his two best friends sandwiched him like that. “It’s okay Ryo. The doctor said you just have to take a rest to prevent you from collapsing again,” Pi gave him a simple explanation.

“Hey, don’t tell me I’m in the hospital now!” Ryo glared at his best friends. His temper was getting worse when he saw his clothes and the surroundings. Only Pi and Jin knew he didn’t like to be in the hospital, so the others just looked at him confusedly.

“I’m going home,” said Ryo and he tried getting off of his bed but now he stopped because he suddenly screamed in pain as he felt his head ache like there’s something that hit his head with a rock or beat it with a stick.

“What’s wrong Ryo-chan??!!” Jin cried in panic.

“I’m going to call the doctor!” said Kame and got out of the room. Shige followed him.

The others walked closer to Ryo to know what happened. Ryo held his head as his vision blurred again. The strong pain in his head didn’t stop and made him groan in pain. Pi helped him lay down again. Jin and Tegoshi cried hard while the others couldn’t speak at all. They seriously didn’t know what to do when they saw Ryo curled up and groaning.

“Tell me, Ryo-chan. What’s wrong?” asked Pi.

“I …. I don’t… don’t know…. my head felt… so… dizzy and my body… suddenly very….tired..shit Pi, what’s… going on … with my… bo.. body??” said Ryo with difficulty and he shuddered. He gripped Pi’s hand and he hid his face in his pillow. Even though it’s soft they could hear Ryo’s sobbing. Seconds later, the doctor came and gasped seeing many people in the room then he controlled the situation. Kicking them out of the room and letting only Jin and Pi remain inside.

“Can you believe that?!” asked Koki after he recovered from his shock. It might’ve been the effect of the doctor’s kick that sent his senses back to himself again. “It’s the first time I saw Nishikido’s other side, weak and crying. CRYING!”

Koyama went ahead now. “I think if Ryo-chan’s weak or crying it’s not bad. He is human too. He sure has a weak side like us. We can’t act like this to him. Now, he’s having a difficult time so we have to support him instead of judging him with bad thoughts.” Nobody could doubt that. With Ryo’s position in two groups as his career, he was sure having a crazy time about that. It’s a miracle he could stand that for six years, so if he collapsed it’s not a big surprise.

“Guys…,” Massu tried to speak. He was a little scared. No, he was really scared to spit out what was in his mind and he couldn’t withdraw that one word which came out of his mouth. It succeeded in making the others focus their attention to him. He fidgeted as he held Tegoshi’s shoulder as the latter was still crying. “Ng … ano … For a long time, I was always thinking about … ng …” Massu paused for ten seconds.

“Oh come on, Massu, spit it out!” said Koki in annoyance. He didn’t like waiting especially in this kind of situation.

“Yeah Massu, what is it? It’s okay to say it,” Koyama showed him a face which made him stop fidgeting, a caring face.

Massu looked at everyone who kept quiet, waiting patiently for what he will say. Then Massu stared at the floor beneath him as he spoke in a really low voice, “I … I think… maybe.. Ryo has to let go… of… ng.. of us…ehm.. I mean… NEWS.”

KAT-TUN members, minus Jin, could see the drastic change of NEWS’ members’ faces after Massu finished talking. They couldn’t believe Massu said that.

“NO!!!!” shouted Tegoshi, his crying stopped. His eyes widened as he stared at Massu. “Ryo-tan can’t leave us! He is part of NEWS, of US! I don’t want to lose a member again! Especially Ryo-tan! No! You’re bad Massu-chan!” shouted Tegoshi, not noticing that he has started crying again and tears were flowing freely from his puppy eyes. He’s cried harder than before so Koyama hurried to hug him, patted his head softly and hushed him to calm down.

Massu shook his head. He seemed to be crying too. He knew what he said could make the others surprised but Tegoshi’s hysterical act made him feel as the worst person in the world. “Yes Tegoshi, I don’t want to lose him too. But ….” Massu said, trembling.

Kame came closer to him. He placed his hands on Massu’s shaky shoulder. He gave him a calm smile. “I think I know what you mean, Massu. You said that not because you’re bad friend but because you’re worried about him so much.”

Massu couldn’t help but to cry. He uttered ‘Sorry’ again and again until Tegoshi let go of Koyama’s hug to hug Massu. “I’m so sorry, Massu. Don’t cry,” said Tegoshi but he cried too. Upon seeing the two crying hard, they felt an ache in their hearts. Koyama and Shige tried to comfort Massu and Tegoshi although they felt like crying too. The rest of KAT-TUN just kept silent seeing how sad they were.

Kame remembered the time when Jin left them to go America. He cried like there’s no tomorrow and T-TUN comforted him although they had the same feelings like him. It’s hard to lose someone that’s important to you, even though that someone is only separated from you for a while. The differences were Jin came back to them but in this case; Ryo might be separated from NEWS forever. So Kame believed that the NEWS’ members were very terrified and felt worse than him and T-TUN when Jin left. NEWS had a hard time when one by one, their members left them. That was because of various reasons but it didn’t change the fact that they were out of their group forever. They always tried to stand up again and tighten their friendship and it’s something that needed a long time to do. Especially for Ryo who didn’t seem to want to be a part of NEWS from the start.

Ryo’s friendship with Kanjani’s members was very strong. Besides that, they debuted after a long time of trials, sadness and hard work and they did all things together. They were already together since childhood and they knew each other like their own selves, they encouraged and trusted each other the whole time. In sadness and happiness, they were always together. No wonder their bond was so strong and wonderful. For years, it gave Ryo a hard time to get used in NEWS. He was the oldest in NEWS so he was being the background boss of them. Well, don’t get him wrong, he just had to act more adult and mature so he could give them a good example of what to do and protect them, of course. It’s so hard when he had to act with different personalities when he was with NEWS or with Kanjani. Sometimes it’s so difficult and exhausting. One time he’s the oldest in NEWS and at another time he’s one of the younger members in Kanjani.

When NEWS dropped because a member left them, it’s hard, but for Ryo, the hard time was when Uchi left them. He blamed himself for what happened to his best friend and he cried a lot. He missed Uchi very much. He couldn’t take it anymore until he was comforted by the rest of NEWS. It was the time that changed everything in his life. He felt he had to stand up with them. He tried to make a new way with his life with NEWS. He realized he was a part of NEWS and Kanjani. He couldn’t let go of one of them and let them drop because they were his friends, his groups and his life. He believed he could stand in two groups as long as they were together, supported and loved each other. They were important to him, his precious friends in his life.

On the other hand, Ryo didn’t notice that they are worried about him so much. Kanjani and NEWS didn’t want to let go of him. He was part of them and was their precious friend too. But the time they had to let go of him has arrived. Not in the Kanjani side, but in NEWS’ side, because the rest of NEWS knew Ryo without Kanjani was not Ryo. They were happy that Ryo kept trying to be with them and didn’t care for himself but cared about them. It was enough. Ryo deserved to stop doing two activities at the same time. It could kill him if he continued that. What they wanted was for Ryo to accept their choice to let go of him. It was for Ryo’ s sake.

Ueda lay down on his bed in his apartment. His thoughts flew to what happened in the hospital two hours ago. The sadness of Tegoshi, Koyama, Massu and Shige’s face was visible clearly in his mind. It made his heart feel sad too. Why were they sad like that? Is Ryo really important for them? Why were they worried for that bastard? It’s a mystery for Ueda because for him, Ryo was nothing important. He hated him. The Osakan might be nothing in his life but in the others’ life, he was important for them. It made him wonder if he was the only one who knew of Ryo’s side, the one he showed to him. He didn’t know Ryo’s other side that made him so loved by the others. It was the reason he couldn’t really understand the whole thing that happened today, the reason of sadness for NEWS’ members and the new feeling in his heart about Ryo too.

I know it is not my business, but I feel I probably can do something about that. I don’t want to see my friends sad. Okay, they may not be my close friends but, hey, whatever happens, they are my friends too. So, I will encourage myself to help my enemy so that he doesn’t have to let go one of his two groups. My feeling says his soul is there so if he lost one of them, he will be broken. Well, I really don’t know how I can help him, but I will try if there is a chance to help him. I don’t care what it is as long as I can do that.
Ueda stopped thinking when he finally slept peacefully.

In his sleep he murmured, “It’s crazy.”
