I have the soundtrack to Sweeney Todd stuck in my head. Like... the entire soundtrack. This is probably due to the fact that I went to see it at the cinema tonight. And it was marvellous and all that can be desired of a Tim Burton film starring 3 of my favourite actors ( Read more... )

Yes, I have that too! Not that this is a problem. It's actually quite awesome, as I'm sure you'll agree? I was looking forward to it since October when I saw a trailer of it on the lovely Circe's computer last year.

I actually had a moment of comparing Depp's Sweeney Todd to a more grown up Edward Scissorhands, especially during the 'By the Beach' sequence. God, I don't even remember the opening sequence of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I think the old one is too ingrained in my head.

I love the soundtrack, I've been listening to it non stop reccently. Half the songs are my favourite songs. XD

I can see Edward Scissorhands in it too really, but if you watch Charlie again no doubt you'd notice the similarities.

Sweeney Todd is made of pure win!
Also, if you're writing an essay on Fairytales then there has to be reference to Stardust in there!

Completely unrelated I'm afraid since I'm writing about Perrault's fairy tale collection and I don't think Stardust, nor Gaiman were around in 17th Century France. References to a coupld of other fairy tale collectors such as the Grimms Brothers, and older story origins will happen. As will modern commentary. ;)
