[RL with Zechs]

Tyki tried to be sceptical, he really tried.

He'd tried to make sure he covered all of his bases, too. But the offer was just too good, and she said she didn't want anything in return but to watch the fall-out ( Read more... )

Tyki was shaking his bruised hand and glaring at the bed as if it had offended him. With gritted teeth, he put out his hand again, more slowly.

This time, it slid right into the post and out again in a single, uninterrupted arc.

"Ha! There we go," Tyki exclaimed. "I don't know what was wrong before. My powers work."

The confusion - though none of the concern - evaporated into surprise and shock. He raised his eyebrows, and walked forwards, trying to figure out what was going on. Tyki's skin was still unmarked by the stigmata. Which meant the Noah wasn't back? Or had the Noah simply been there all along, and now was awakening? Such thoughts kept the concern well within his expression.

While Zechs would have not wished helplessness upon his lover, the absence of the Noah was welcome and a fine development, in his opinion. For it to return now - what did it mean for Tyki? Worry squirmed within him, and he sat on the feeling. Considering Tyki's delight, he really didn't know what to say. However ...

Perhaps he was jumping to conclusions. "How?" he asked, allowing himself to sound as bewildered as he felt.

Tyki was ecstatic, that was for sure. Ever since he lost his powers, he had been feeling a kind of helplessness that he didn't know how to deal with. While he had striven not to show it to anyone - flirting just as outrageously as ever with the likes of Grimmjow and Trish, for example - he hadn't actually followed up on any invitations to spend time with them.

Frankly, it was getting a bit boring, being scared of going out and getting hurt by some of his more extremely powerful and bloodthirsty friends. Not that he was really scared of Grimmjow - much less Trish - but he was a bit cautious.

He wasn't really aware of the concern in Zechs' expression as he passed his hand carefully two more times through the bed frame, making sure that it really was true.

"That new chaos goddess did it," he said. "You know, the one that pissed us off so badly the other day. She said I was boring with no powers, and offered to give them back to me."

Tyki's pronouncement left Zechs with the distinct feeling of being kicked in the stomach. It was only intensified by the expression of delight and joy on his lover's face. As much as the man had attempted to hide it, he knew how much the loss of his powers had wounded the Noah. Such were the reasons why he had tried his best to mention it as little as possible, let the man deal with things on his own - like the argument with Cross - and offer comfort those few times Tyki had asked for it. He loved him deeply, but Zechs didn't know what to do otherwise.

But to get them back at the whim of Eris - he could only imagine they'd be taken away when he needed them most, or that some terrible price was attached. Or both. He thought having them taken away a second time would hurt his lover even more.

Trying to keep his voice calm, he asked, "What did she desire in return?"

Tyki knew what Zechs was thinking, or at least most of it. He sat down on the bed next to his lover and slipped his arms around him. "Nothing," he said, trying to reassure him. "I asked her what she wanted in return, and she said she didn't want anything. She just wanted to watch me and enjoy the show."

He cocked his head. "Honestly, like she said - I'm far more interesting when I don't have to be so cautious. I'm not a fool, Zechs. It seemed to make sense, based on what I know of her nature."
