[RL with Zechs]

Tyki tried to be sceptical, he really tried.

He'd tried to make sure he covered all of his bases, too. But the offer was just too good, and she said she didn't want anything in return but to watch the fall-out ( Read more... )

Zechs just hesitated the fraction of a second before turning the key, hearing Tyki's shout of joy. It was quite distinguishably a celebratory cry, rather than an angered or a pained one, so he was wearing a smile of his own as he locked the door behind him. It had been a lengthy day, but a productive one, in his own opinion.

"I'm home," he had called, perhaps unnecessarily. He toed off his shoes and hung up his leather duster. In no particular hurry, Zechs began to make his way through the apartment to find his lover.

Tyki heard Zechs' shout and sprang up. "My love, the most amazing--"

He started to head out to meet him and was nearly yanked off of his feet as there was a sharp tug on his wrist. He jerked backwards, pain shooting up his arm as his hand failed to come free from the wall.

"Ow!" he snapped, though he was more surprised than hurt.

He turned to look at the hand, which apparently hadn't come out of the wall as he'd intended, and pulled it out.

It came free without any difficulty, and he stood there for a moment, staring at his hand and flexing it. "Perhaps I'm out of practice," he mused, disturbed.

Easily hearing the shout of surprise and muffled clamor, Zechs merely assumed Tyki happened to stub his toe or something similarly trivial. After all, the Noah was having difficulties adjusting to being fully corporeal all of the time. Entering their bedroom, he was already shrugging out of his blue suit jacket, mentally starting to relax himself. He grinned at Tyki.

"With what are you out of practice?" he asked, curious, but then caught the look on his lover's face. His hands stilled on the buckle of his service holster, and he left it fastened for now. Zechs walked over to the man's side. Tyki had wanted to show him something amazing. But now he was looking at his hand as if it wasn't his.

Well, fine, Tyki had been doing that anyhow, the first few nights within the Healin Lodge, as he was still coming to terms with his state of reality. And still did it now and again. Zechs brows were drawn in concern, but waited for his lover to speak.

Tyki hesitated, then put the strange happening out of his mind. It had to have been a strange mistake. He must have accidentally tried to grab a part of the wall, and hadn't been able to pull it out along with his hand.

He was just out of practice, that was all.

He beamed again, full of animation once more. "Look!" he exclaimed.

He thrust out a hand to pass it through the large knob at the corner of the bed, on the footboard. His hand collided with it with an audible 'thud'.

"Ouch! What the fuck!"

Honestly, now Zechs was at a loss for words. He had no idea what Tyki was attempting to demonstrate to him, other than the foolishness of punching their rather well-built bed. If he hadn't such a high opinion of the Noah, he would have thought the man was acting a little nutty. Right now, he could only assume Zechs missed something somewhere which would give him the proper context.

The reason the truth didn't occur to him in the slightest fashion was that Zechs thought it impossible for Tyki to gain his powers back now. Like the absence of the ZERO, he had quickly seen his loss of powers as permanent, and had taken it for granted. He didn't see how it would have been possible.

Looking concerned still and a little confused, Zechs carefully said nothing and waited for an explanation.
