Then take it back. Find the receipt and say "this one sucks." Give me my money back; STAT!!

It was a gift. I'll see if Julie still has the receipt, but I doubt it.

That toaster's brand new! the box assured me it was a good one! I bought it at Fred Meyers! What went wrong?! Life baffles me.

but a toaster oven is an excellent idea- although they seem to take longer then ordinary toasters and you don't get that popping up of your toast :(
