I keep saying the same thing about RM, how is a season of 96 points in the middle of all the shit the team's been through lately a bad season? Only 3 points behind Barcelona, 30+ over the rest of the teams (I believe). And yes, we didn't make it through in the CL, but many other good teams were also left in the way, yet nobody's saying United, for example, is had a bad season.

And lol at Etxeberria. He looks all sad and depressed, and in the last picture he's all weee.

Exactly! I think they've done extremely well, and I don't like the rumours about Pellegrini. The man should be left in peace to do his job, ffs.

I didn't see the match because of lack of TV coverage/streams, but I got almost sentimental when I looked at the gallery on the Athletic website. First they had all those depressing pics of him leaving the pitch and saying goodbye to the team and the fans and almost tearing up, and I got almost sentimental myself, but then they showed the pics of the team throwing him and Armando into the air and I had to smile. Weee indeed! :D

Those pics are from the Villarreal website. I love how many articles they published about these two. (Of course reading them all made me miss Javi and Bobby even more!)

And Joseba... *sniffle* The awesomeness of this man knows no bounds.

What a beautifully-written post! It made me sad, though. :( But hear, hear! I agree with you. Real Madrid had an incredible season considering all the changes that took place. And while Barcelona deserved to win, at least most of their team was the same one that they did so well with last year. But Real Madrid sure stayed on their butts all season long, didn't they, and made things so very close!

What Quique Sanchez Flores has done with Atletico is nothing short of incredible. If they can win a double, it will be an amazingly unbelievable season for them.

I am SO SAD about Villareal and Robert Pires! Let's hope that next season will be a good one for them.

And for Athletic too. A great team...they will only become stronger, IMO.

Thanks for the great post!♥

It is sad. :( I wish some players would never leave their clubs or retire from football.

Exactly. Barcelona have a running system, so it was to be expected that they'd be successful again this year. But what happened at Madrid with a completely new management and squad is very impressive, and I wish people would finally acknowledge that instead of just focusing on the lack of silverware.

Quique has done an amazing job. It's rather surprising how he's suddenly so successful now after he failed completely at Valencia three years ago.

Glad you enjoyed the post! :)

Wonderful post!

I agree so much with what you say about RM. It makes me angry to know that many madridistas don't understand what a great season you had, especially in La Liga. 96 points, that's massive. Quarter-finals of the CL, that's really good. The development of players like Van der Vaart or Marcelo, getting others like CRon and Xabi to fit in so seamlessly... come on, people, that's a great season, even if you didn't get any silverware.

Though I can spare part of my righteous indignation for those barcelonistas who are 'disappointed' with our own season. A Liga won over the best RM in years, anyone? Semi-finals of the CL and CDR? Pichichi, Zamora, Golden Boot, getting a handful of children to develop into starting XI players? I don't understand how some people measure football success, to be honest...

And, omg, don't make me cry about Bobby, bceuase I will, you know? My darling Bobby... :(

I haven't talked to any Madridistas who believe this season was a failure, so my post was rather aimed at all those stupid pundits and journalists who keep saying that Real Madrid had an unsuccessful season and need to buy more star players and sack Pellegrini. *fumes*

And, as you said, you guys should be damned proud of your team because this La Liga season wasn't easy, Real Madrid didn't drop many points, and also you reached two semi-finals. Not to mention all the other awards and everything. But to be honest I expected that some so-called fans would consider everything that's not a repetition of last season a failure. They can't be helped.

*sniffle* Bobby... *sniffle*
