It's probably common knowledge that I'm a movie crack. Also that I usually don't go for the Hollywood heartthrobs but prefer the underrated, really talented sort of actors. And that I love good movie discussions and can never get enough movie recommendations

I loved Ripley, so we disagree there, but we DO agree on the wonderfulness of Peter. Oh my yes. Words fail.
Here's a couple more:
Wyvern Mystery. Must see. Don't get any spoilers first.
That Deadwood Feeling. Insane. Must see.
Thanks for this post!! Jack Davenport rocks ♥

I would have preferred The Talented Mr Ripley if the characters (except Jack's and, to some extent, Cate's) weren't so damned hysterical all the time. And I don't mean hysterical in a funny way. *shudders*
Is Wyvern Mystery available on DVD in Europe? Because then I'll buy it right now! :)
Thanks for the other rec, too, I shall check it out! :D Jack rocks indeed! :D

Ripley - I guess it just struck me differently (I'm addicted to it ♥). But we still agree 100% on Peter!

I can't really recommend any films he has been in but there are a couple of tv shows his wife appeared in which i loved. The Book Group is a Channel 4 series (2 seasons i think) from quite a few years ago where she played one of three WAGs that join a book group started up by an American woman who has just moved to Scotland, and if i remember rightly one of the characters - a nedish hard guy football nut - starts having an affair with her husband. It's been years since i saw it but it was a great show.
Then there is Green Wing, another Channel 4 show, kind of a British version of Scrubs. She plays a crazy hospital staff liason officer Sue White (http://www.

I've heard about "Green Wing", though I haven't seen any of it. But I once saw her in an episode of "My Family", if I remember correctly - the one where Ben needs a dentist. She's the assistant of Roger Bailey, who later gets a bigger role in the series. It was very amusing to see her because I never knew she was in the series, so I was all "OMG, it's JackDav's wife!" XD

I agree with a lot of what you say here - I loved Jack's accent in the Moth so much. I remember hearing him sulk that nobody wants him to do accents on some DVD commentary and then I saw this and I wondered why nobody else was asking him to do accents. Then I saw Swingtown and his atrocious American accent. Which was so bad I forgot he *could* do good ones like in the audiobook of The Supernaturalist^^And Gypsy Woman is one of those low-budget films that just gets under your skin with great acting and strong characters going from utter rejection of anything outside their sphere of knowledge to utter acceptance. And with a soundtrack made of win ( ... )

Many people have told me that his accent in Swingtown was bad, but we've established that he can do accents, so maybe it was the director's fault? XDDD
YES! Gypsy Woman is definitely all that! And it looks a lot less low-budget than it is! I really liked the colour editing that was done on the landscape shots. Very pretty scenery. And I know it's silly, but in my opinion the haircut Jack has as Leon suits him best. :)
I like the way he gave depth and thought to what was really an ancillary character That is really the best part about the film, and one of the many reasons why Jack is one of my favourite actors ( ... )
