I found an interesting article on Bayern's transfer politics in the 35th issue of this year's kicker magazine, and angualupin's post convinced me to share some information. :)
Why . . . are they planning to buy more strikers where they're real concern is in defense?
Lucio (might not want to play in the UEFA Cup) Arrogant little twit, ain't he?
Claudio Pizarro (unknown - but Bayern wants to get rid of him) Why's that??
Miroslav Klose (Werder Bremen) - Arjen Robben (Chelsea London)
Please no.
Owen Hargreaves (Manchester United - representatives of both clubs have decided to meet up soon)
Is it wrong for me to say that I want him to stay?
I hate this season. Frings is moving to f-ing Juventus. Real Madrid has virtually everyone in their 'to buy' list. Most of the players playing this season burned out because of the world cup. Voronin moving to Liverpool. Chelsea losing the EPL to Man-fucking-United, and the whole Miro pulling an Ashley Cole on Werder officials. Bayern . . . does not perform well at all this season.
Why . . . are they planning to buy more strikers where they're real concern is in defense? It's the simple rule: If you score one goal more than your opponent, you win the match. ;)
Arrogant little twit, ain't he? You're lucky that you got rid of him. I wish we could.
I think Robben might be a good idea - but I'd rather have Makaay than Klose, to be honest.
Is it wrong for me to say that I want him to stay? I think the German league just isn't for him. He's fast, but he never manages to take advantage of that because the rest of the team is so slow. They'd have to get more English players to make the game faster. In my opinion, Hargreaves doesn't fit to Bayern's current tactics, but if they manage to change the team as they're planning, there might be a spot for Hargreaves again. Let's see if he transfers or not.
Eh, he wasn't that bad when he was playing for us. I know... But imagine how it would have been if you had kept him.
Well, Uli could just put him on the transfer list if they want to get rid of him =/ But that's just it. He won't. :(
I still don't understand why they want to get rid of Pizzarro though. Because he never shows some effort, only when his contract is being discussed? He was much more constant at Bremen and Bayern have given him enough chances to prove himself and finally show what he's worth. He didn't. I don't think it's a bad decision to let him go now.
And yeah, may Hargreaves would be better of playing in the EPL, but why Man Utd? Don't ask me! I don't like ManU either! I'd prefer him to sign with a different club than ManU, but alas, it's not my decision. :(
It's also probably just plain wrong to say this, but to me Poldi has always been... uh, a liability. I agree - he has not been of too much help since he came to Munich, which is basically Magath's fault, since he didn't know how to deal with him. Back in Cologne, Poldi had a coach who constantly kicked his butt and got him to work. Now that the damage is done (after about half a year on the bench), I don't know how long it will take Hitzfeld to repair it.
I sure hope that Makaay stays. And I'm not real keen on Poldi grabbing some bench time because, well i adore him, but he hasn't proven himself on the pitch since the WC so maybe he'll work a little harder. Of course, being injured half the season hasn't helped him either. At least Mark is still there....
And, as much as everyone I know loves Oli Kahn, I think it's time for Rensing to be given a fair shot because he's proven he's worthy of more chances.
I want Makaay to stay, too, which is why I'm quite happy about the fact that Klose will stay with Bremen until the end of next season.
And I'm not real keen on Poldi grabbing some bench time because, well i adore him, but he hasn't proven himself on the pitch since the WC so maybe he'll work a little harder. As I wrote above, I don't think bench time alone will help. Magath didn't know how to get him to work as hard as he could, so he put him on the bench because he was overtaxed with him. It didn't change a thing, it rather made things worse. Back in Cologne, Poldi had a coach who constantly kicked his butt and got him to work, but considering the long period that Poldi had been left alone, it will take time until the damage is repaired. Let's hope Mark can help.
And, as much as everyone I know loves Oli Kahn, I think it's time for Rensing to be given a fair shot because he's proven he's worthy of more chances.Hitzfeld criticized Kahn recently for being incapable to get his emotions under control. Alas, this is not enough to make
( ... )
I think a lot of it depends on who else Bayern bring on board though... but I still hope he will stick around. If not I might have to stalk him follow him at the new club.
Well, I don't actually like Kahn... and I think that he has a very big ego for someone who, may have been good at one time (I don't know cause I'm knew to the whole Euro Football fandom), but to me hasn't proven to be that good as of late. And for him to flat out say he will not share any time with Rensing because it's not his time is pretty damn egotistical of him.
Well, Klose was their priority, and now that he's not available, I hope they'll act sensible and won't buy someone just to have bought someone - if you know what I mean. They've been doing that a lot in the past and it's never worked out, so I hope they've finally learned from their mistakes.
I do like Kahn - well, not the current version of him but the general version of him. He's achieved a lot with Bayern and without him, the team wouldn't have been as successful over the past few years, but his total refusal to do the only sensible thing and end his career at this point (when he can't make a change, either) annoys me to no end.
It makes me hope that Rensing will blow everyone's minds this weekend so that nobody even knows who Kahn is anymore.
These things are good to know. I did not know Bayern was getting Sosa, and I had forgotten they were taking delivery of an Altintop. I am relieved, at least, that they are not entirely neglecting their midfield -- although it does look that they might be skimping a bit on defense.
I don't think they're going to be able to get Miro -- Werder is being very insistent that he's not going anywhere else in the Bundesliga until his contract is up next season, and Miro himself has apologized for being an ass talking to Bayern without letting Werder know

although it does look that they might be skimping a bit on defense. Yeah - I don't understand that, either. I really hope they won't get rid of van Buyten, though. If he's incompatible with Lucio, that does not mean it's his fault. *is worried*
I also think they might find it difficult to get ahold of Marcell Jansen That might be true, but not for the reasons you mentioned. Jansen will definitely leave Gladbach, now that it's certain they'll be relegated. He said that yes, he loves Gladbach with all his heart, but he needs to think of his career and the second league won't further him. Therefore, he'll transfer, but since there are offers from Real Madrid and a couple of EPL clubs, it might indeed be difficult for Bayern to get him - though they always affirm that they're doing their best and that they judge their chances to be good.
On the third hand, Loew hasn't hesitated to call up Koln players, at least for the second-string Denmark game, and they're second league right now.True, but when he was called up, Patrick Helmes had

I think many of van Buyten's problems this season have been because he's incompatible with Lucio -- but that's not his fault, it's Lucio's inability to stay where he belongs. Van Buyten is very strong at the back and that's a strength Bayern needs. Personally, one of the three things which I find incomprehensible about Hitzfeld's tactics is why he doesn't seem to realize that van Buyten and Demichelis make a solid partnership at the back and it's solidity, not strength on the push, that is what Bayern needs back there.
Pretty-haired Marcell going to the EPL? I don't think that's wise of him. He has pace for a defender but not that much pace, and he's never demonstrated (to me, at least) the enthusiasm for tackles required by an EPL defender. I hope he stays in Germany, at Bayern or not, because I think the Bundesliga is much better suited to him
( ... )
Yes, that's what I meant. Van Buyten is definitely incompatible with Lucio, but everyone seems to assume that's his fault. I mean, true, it worked last season, with Lucio and Ismaël in the defence, but that was just because (as he said himself) Ismaël stayed in the back all the time and let Lucio advance as he pleased. Van Buyten is no player of that kind. He was the skipper at Hamburg, he was in the front more often than in the back because he and his defence colleagues were constantly communicating and there was always someone to fill in for him when he was in the front. One could say that he and Lucio are too alike to fit together, but I don't think that comparison fits. Van Buyten advanced with reason and common sense. Lucio advances whenever he gets bored, no matter if the time is right or not. Also, van Buyten used to be a striker before he became a defender. He wouldn't make the mistake of wanting to break through a wall of players in front of him because he has learned other ways to overcome them. This is actually why I don't

Insgesamt hoffe ich, dass Olli ab und an für Rense das Tor frei macht und ihm seine Chancen lässt, sich einzuspielen.
Roy soll bleiben, ganz klar.
Ich hasse Jan Schlaudraff, umso wichtiger wäre mir dieser Punkt.
Angeblich ist ja auch Wesley Sneijder im Gespräch bei den Bayern. :)
