WTF Bayern

And no, this is not because of their dismal performance this afternoon. (Andi played well and Rense was on the bench, so fuck all of the rest of you. It's not like I even like your team anyway. *tthbts*)

I know well enough to discount rumors until the official word is officially out in an official capacity. But, ok, strikers coming to Bayern over the summer:

They're keeping Makaay and Poldi. 'Cause, they still have contracts. (At least I think Makaay is staying. Am I forgetting something?) I'm guessing Pizzaro will be leaving. No one's really happy with him, and his contract is up.

They're getting Schlaudraff from Aachen (contract signed in January) and Luca Toni from Fiorentina (contract just signed). So those are confirmed.

Rumor heavily hints at Miro (who shouldn't be leaving Werder, but whatever, it's not like anyone listens to me anyway) and more lightly hints at Arjen Robben from Chelsea or whoever actually owns him right now.

Um, WHAT? Look, I know that one of Bayern's problems this season has been a lack of functional strikers, but SIX STRIKERS??????? Am I the only one that thinks this is too much and too late? Maybe two more functional strikers, some intensive work with Poldi over the summer to figure out why he's not clicking with Bayern, and maybe a couple of sobbing "why"'s to Makaay until he gets back in form. And then, four strikers, yeah? Think that's enough?

Because it's not that Bayern can't have too many strikers -- actually, I think a team can have too many strikers, because if there's a whole population who is always on the bench I don't think it will make for a happy locker room, and while a good bit of internal competition is healthy, too much and you have no team unity and you get the disaster the poor BvB was this season -- but that, if they're spending so much money on strikers (Lucatoni did not come cheap, anyone from Chelsea won't come cheap, and Miro is certainly not going to come cheap, although for once I actually think he deserves that) that's going to not leave enough money to shore up the midfield and defense. And those need it too, dear god, just as much as the horrible tragedy that is watching every single striker miss every single shot. Seriously, sometimes it's like watching an Arsenal game.

Brazzo is leaving, as long as Juve doesn't get relegated again for being fucking Italian. Odds are strongly in favor of Hargreaves being let go, since he so badly wants to and Man Utd, slightly incomprehensibly, still want him. That leaves van Bommel (mostly very strong), Andi (strong and getting better, although I always have the sneaking suspicion that Hitzfeld doesn't realize this), Schweini (maybe he'll find his form again over the summer?), Ali Karimi (er, no), Roque fucking Santa Cruz (plays for shit), and probably some people who never play so I don't know how good they are.

In defense, I think everyone is staying, but it's been shit all season, so it doesn't really matter. Micho and van Buyten do play well together when they're allowed to, which isn't often, poor Lahm still hasn't quite gotten his pace back (hopefully will over the summer, yes?), Sagnol is, well, slowing down a bit, Lucio is a raving psychotic who hasn't quite grasped the idea of "defense" yet, and Lell has pace but not much self-control.

And as far as my obtaining rumors, Bayern will be getting no one in for either midfield or defense. Is there something I don't know, not reading German newspapers? Or has the ever-so-wise Bayern management decided their problem this season was Magath (partly true), the World Cup aftermath (definitely true), and a bunch of arrogant players unwilling to work hard (probably also true) and therefore are going to spend all their money on a bunch of strikers who may or may not perform (Lucatoni) and leave the defense gaping and midfield chaotic again?

I DESPAIR. Also, I kind of hate Andi and Rense because if it weren't for them I wouldn't give a shit about how Bayern is doing, and could calmly focus on the absolute MESS Werder has gotten itself into for next season. (Why do you have to go to Italy, Torsten? Whyyyyyyyy.)

And after all of that it's not like the one person I want to leave the damn squad is going to. Fuckers.

Edit: *reads over post* I am apparently very angry. I did not realize I was this angry. Can I go back to forgetting I cared about sport again? Stupid World Cup.
