I've been looking at the houses currently on the market here, to see what I could buy, and I had to stop. It was too depressing. I can't afford ANYTHING in this area that I'd want to live in. Maybe I should find a roommate to fund some of the cost, or get an straight loan or something. This sucks, and it's doubtful that the prices will come ( Read more... )

We ended up looking at a lot higher prices than we started out looking at. I /think/ it will be a good descision, in years to come.

Have you look at Arlington Village?

It didn't come up in my search before, but I just did a search for everything listed since the beginning of this year in Arlington Village. The cheapest one is $260k, and they average at about $300k - and no garage. I can get a 1 bedroom condo at Savoy Park (Seminary road, behind Skyline) for $250k with 2 garage spaces included (it has an underground garage) - the building is not a high-rise, only 4 floors I think. So Arlington Village is even more expensive than what I want ( ... )
