Hope both your boys will be well soon. Esp must be well to buy the rose for you. :)
I'm a Thalassamia minor and Sarah too. I got to know only during pregnancy. Was asked to test for Thalassamia b'cos my blood count was way below avg. Thalassamia runs in the family so 1 of the parents will be a minor if the child has it. How was your blood count during pregnancy? How abt your husband?
Anyway not to worry abt it as you still live as usual as long as you are not major :)
Thanks babe :) My blood count was good during pregnancy which is why my gynae did not order the Thalassamia test for me. Husband wise has always been good too. So guess the chance of us both having Thalassamia is pretty low but then again must run the test to confirm hor?
Yeah, I read up on Thalassamia long ago as one of my girlfriend had that when she was pregnant. Eh, Happy Mother's Day to you yah? :D
Dont think its necessary now? If im not wrong they do check again during NS. Just make sure before they plan for family, ensure not both party are thalassmia :) When i was diagnosed, i was very worried while waiting for my hubby's blood test result.
Thanks. Let's all have a wonderfull Mother's Day :)
oh dear, to think you cannot be at their side when they are taking their test. I can imagine how terrible you must have felt whilst you heard them over the phone.
I hope that it's not thalassemia for the boys or you...
my girls on & off coughing for 2 months.... Nikki is better after 3 doses of chinese med, Nicia juz finshed hers & kena fever. i wonder hw to stop all these man. SIL's girl was sent to KKH last nite for her girl's sudden consistent coughing until her face turned green & pale. She was put on something like neubulizer ....more simplified version. Wish all the kids be well!
hope the boys get well soon from bronchitis... *hugz*
i was going to reply to your reply from the previous post...i find that KKH tend to "over-react" with too many unnecessary tests, and worst case...gabe was subjected to unnecessary blood tests but found nothing in the end..when you asked the MOs they simply BS something but the bottom line is that they just did not know but did not want to admit that...
Thanks! I didn't know that about KKH! Now I know. Will not subject the boys to more test as they are not comfortable with that. What we plan to do is to get ourselves tested instead. Meaning me and Ant. If we are negative for thalassemia then they definitely cannot be positive as it is inherited blood disorder.
when i was pregnant with gabe and our gynae from KKH, they did some blood tests on me and ming, and thalassemia was one of them, actually if i remembered correctly this was the only test ming was tested for....
I called up my gynae to check also. He mentioned that my blood test was good hence did not need to order for thalassemia test. Anyway, thanks for your info! :D
