I've read the material provided but I still can't bring myself to accept the conclusion that we are stuck here. According to the laws of physics, this place should be impossible. In order for a planet to have the necessary mass to hold a gravity that is similar enough to Earth as this one appears to have, it would have to be much larger than a City ( Read more... )

Hello, Angela. I didn't expect to see you in this dream.

Then how do you propose to explain the fact that we're supposedly stuck here?

Did you pinch yourself? Did it hurt when you pinched yourself?

I have not attempted to pinch myself.

But now that I have, it does indeed hurt.

Then that proves that you're not dreaming or hallucinating, right?

Conceivably in a hallucination I can imagine I'm in pain based on pain cues that I can present to my body but not in a dream. Since I've already ruled out hallucination, then this likely isn't a dream, either.

That's one of the best efforts I've seen here. To explain this place away, I mean.

So it would appear. Although it is not my intention to deny a reality, simply to doubt that such a place can physically exist.

How long do you think you could keep that up? I'm just curious.

How long can I keep up my incredulity? Until I can prove this place correct through a scientific method.

The laws of physics. You do not believe in anything besides these rigid, human constructs?

The laws of physics weren't invented by humans.

The theories concerning them.

I believe the ones that have been proven to be true.

At least I've already done this with Bones...

Zack, isn't it possible that alternate realities are possible and if they are, isn't it also possible that on one of them a place like this could exist?

Hello, Agent Booth. Angela told me you and Doctor Brennan have been here together. She implied you were not lonely.

Well, in quantum theory it's possible. Although I would still like to know the physics of how this place can retain its atmosphere.

That sounds like something Angela would say.

I'm sure there are some eggheads around here that you can ask.

Is there a scientific community here?
