Well  he's finally finished!

I was just talking about huge project with mscate  last night - how strange it feels when they're done. You spend every moment of your free time working on them that when they're done it's a relief and such a buzz, but you're left with the strange feeling that you should be working, not sitting down. Only because the project ( Read more... )

Have you ever read 'Touk's House' by Robin McKinley? He reminds me of that.

It's a short story in a book called 'A Knot in the Grain'. This story is based on Rapunzel, but Erana (the Rapunzel character) is treated well by the witch. The Witch also has a son, Touk, who is half ogre, and is a hairy, sweet, animal loving, wood carving kind of guy, with green skin, green hair, turquoise eyes, tusks and webbed fingers, who goes lavender when he blushes. When Erana finds out on her 16th birthday that Touk has fallen in love with her, she runs away, meets her birth family, and becomes a healer at the palace. She cures the prince of a wasting sickness and is offered his hand in marriage, but runs away, back to Touk and the witch. She declare her love for Touk and they live happily ever after.
It's one of my favourite fantasy short stories. :)

That sounds like a really good story! I'll take a look for it at uni on Tuesday - it'll be a good break from some of the dry literary criticism I have to read :(

Oh, wow! He turned out awesome!
I especially like the VERY DEADLY plush arrows (I've been doing archery for nearly 10 years now, so I appreciate a well stocked quiver). :)

They have to be VERY DEADLY because he has no bow, you see, so he has to just fling them at his enemies. Poor Mr Troll..

Your icon mildly terrifies me! Who is that man on a turtle's body?

I'm very relieved at how the hair came out! Mid-way through I had a small freakout because it was just looking like a cabbage patch kid mullet or something, but it's all good now and we'll pretend I didn't dissolve into a blubbery mess.

The man-turtle is from what is, quite possibly, one of the best music videos & songs ever:
