I still can't wrap my head around it all...especially the ending. But that's why I write all this shit down, so my posts can be somewhat coherent.
As heartbreaking as this episode was...this is the reason I'm in total and complete love with this show and the writers.

Seriously this episode heart my heart in so many ways. Ah the boys Dean losing hope and Sam being alone in his hope that together they can win. Also I believe Sam totallly picked up that amulet from the trash.
KRIPKE FIX IT.

Sam's face when he did that...that was like a symbol of their connection as brothers and whatnot..him throwing it away is like him just giving up. on Sam, on the world, on just..everything.
I told my brother about him throwing out the necklace and he just didn't get why it was so important (he's only seen a handful of episodes. he mostly just watches with me in the morning on tnt and i fill in the blanks)

DUDE.
YOU DIDN'T KNOW HE THREW IT OUT!?
GUH.
right at the end, he walks to the door, stops and lets the necklace dangle in his fingers a second before dropping it in the garbage.
Sam's face was fucking heartbreaking
