When I was a kid I used to collect all sorts of junk. Napkins, stamps, plastic bags, ticket stubs, posters, magazines, books ... I don't even know
( Read more... )
I loved Aladdin, but I remember preferring it on the Genesis to on the SNES. Can't remember why now, I just remember having it on our SNES and preferring it on our cousins' Genesis...
Secret of Mana I still have fond memories of because of the coop in it. Was one of the few games from that generation that had coop at all, let alone well done coop.
For collections... do tools count? I had mostly stopped collecting stuff, and then lost most of what I did still have in a flood last year. About the only thing I've bought a lot of since then is tools, and the more niche something is, the more the urge to pick it up. I'd like to blame it on having bought a house, but it probably is just a strange resurgence of my old collecting instincts. Plus it's one of the few things I like that I can't just pick up digitally.
I'm pretty sure I've only played the SNES version, so I don't know about that ^^;
Hahahaha, Secret of Mana. I got this when I was younger, but traded it in (read: went to the store and claimed there was something wrong with it because some boss wouldn't die), and got Terranigma instead (the artwork on the box made it seem like a similar game). Best. Trade. Ever. 8] So basically I'm playing Secret of Mana for the first time currently, and it's a great game! Terribly difficult though! And even more so if playing solo. No matter I thought there was something wrong with it XD
! I'm not sure if I've ever actually played it single player. Grab Christian and make him play with you, it's so much more fun when you have another human helping you. If nothing else, you'll spend a lot less time cursing the horrible AI.
It even does 3 player if you have the multi-tap thing and 3 controllers hooked up. Used to play that way with a friend and his brother ~18 years ago.
Well, as you know, I collect them too!(and 21324324 other ones >.>;;;)Mine is actually a similar story, I used to own a PAL Super Nintendo until I sold it to buy an original PS1 which was like £300 and the thing broke, and I had no games for months because I blew all my money on it ... I'm so disappointed in myself XD
I have Aladdin too! and Circus mystery! actually you have some of the Disney games I want to get like Goof Troop and Mickey Mania :D
Is Tokyo Disneyland the one I got you? :o
I only have Capcom games so far but I'm looking to get more.. maybe Final Fantasy games :o
I'm just playing Chrono Trigger for the first time now (it was never released in Europe), and it's amazing!
Yeah it's a bit of a struggle. I've got way too much crap I don't really have any room for, but still I find new things I want to get to put on display or just... keep around to look at .___.;;; I like shiny things.
I collect entry tickets to everything I went to - cinema, sport events, things I go to while travelling, concerts - everything that gives me a scrap of paper in exchange for my money. XD
That's so cool :) My mum used to do that for our summer vacations, so I copied that for a while. Found it sort of tedious though, and I can never find the time to put together proper albums/scrap books, so wha. LJ-ing my travels is good enough for me ^^;;;; I do treasure the few handwritten journals I have that include brochures and things for absolutely everything I did, though. Definitely good memories.
Is Outer World the same as Another World? I really need to go back and play the early 90s Disney games. I remember The lion King and Aladdin being really good.
And there should be more shops called Super Potato!
Yup! Funny how the title is translated into a slightly different english phrase, huh? XD;;;
Aladdin is so gooood! I don't think I've ever gotten past Scar in Lion King, but I still love playing it. The Jungle Book was good as well, as far as I remember... but I think it has a higher difficulty level.

GOOF TROOP IS SO AMAZING; OMGGGG.
Haha no, actually. You got me the GB version, though honestly they are two completely different games. Both very fun (and difficult!) platformers :D
Do you have a list/catalogue thing of all your games to share?
