Spoiled Brat

I'm now in possession of a (used) iPhone 3G. When I got my Sony Ericsson XPERIA x10 early last year, I said one of the reasons was that I had every other iGadget around, and wanted to give Android a whirl. I've now used this iPhone for less than a day, and annoyingly enough I think I like it better than my (wonderfully girly and fun) XPERIA ( Read more... )

the performance is better

That doesn't sound right, are you sure it's not a 3GS? Because the 3G doesn't receive major updates any more, and I'm pretty sure it doesn't support iCloud.

My dad has a 3G that we unwisely upgraded to iOS 4, and it ruined the performance.

I was pretty unimpressed by iOS 6 when it was unveiled this week, and if I was buying now I'd probably get an HTC One X. But I think I'm just going to use my current iPhone for another year and a half.

Haha good point! I actually have no idea. This iPhone was just given to me, no box or manuals or anything (long story). The About tab under Settings doesn't seem to say if it's a 3G or 3GS, and I don't know how to tell the difference otherwise.

This phone definitely supports iCloud, though. And it is faster and more reliable than my XPERIA.

I've been eying the Samsung Galaxy Note, but I don't really know anything about it. Expect that it feels really good to hold, and the idea of scribbling on everything sounds fun ... xD;

You can tell what model it is on the back of the phone. It will say 3G or 3GS or 4 or 4S etc. ;)

oh noes!!!

actually I don't mind.. hahaha, like iphones do the same stuff as my samsung phone, but are more expensive.

I'm more of a bang for your buck type of person, that's why back in the day I got a shitty looking brick MP3 player because it was 20GB, instead of an ipod

Well as I've experienced, they might do the same kind of stuff, but it is a different user experience. I'm so used to the mac user interface, and the seamless connectivity and file sharing with every other gadget I own is kind of wining me over here. It just makes everything easier :|

Still no clue what I'll pick as my next phone, but an iPhone is looking very tempting right now XD

haha well I'd agree with you, I mean if the xperia is incomapatable with your computer then you should probably get an apple phone, or one that you know does do updates \o/

I love iPhones. But I love my Droid Bionic too! Ahhaha. But yes. I love the accessories that the iPhone has and kind of wish I had an iPhone... But I love my current android :p (THOUGH REALLY, THE JAPANESE CUTESY PHONE ACCESSORIES WOULD TIDE ME OVER!)

Your model == 3GS, not 3G. Google the A**** number on the back. 3GS can take the recent firmwares but is slower at them and isn't getting 6 when it comes out, if I remember right.

Also, android contacts should all be synched to gmail. You can add your Gmail accounts as Exchange accounts and get all of your contacts over automatically. http://support.google.com/mobile/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=138740 has the settings you need.

I'm pretty ambivalent between them all. I had a personal Android phone that i gave to my girlfriend when her phone broke, since I also had a work iPhone 4. Newer Android one (last ~3-6 months) impress me more than the latest iPhones, but they haven't had a big update in a while, so...

I find gmail and google accounts really annoying to use, though. I mean, I use G+, but I made a specific gmail just for that purpose, I never check the actual e-mail. I think I'm using that gmail as my main google account on my phone, but I'm not even sure anymore. I don't use Google calendar (nor iCal for that matter). There's never been any syncing going on anywhere that I can see XD ( ... )
