Ha! I haven't been here in forever! The other day, I was reading the girls some of my old journal entries about them, and they love the Day in the Life ones. They wanted me to do another one, so here we go!
She's been doing great! She is so responsible and never complains or snacks when she shouldn't. And she's learning how to calculate carbs herself. She has the occasional high, but we check her blood sugar often, so we're able to correct the highs quickly. And she has the occasional low, but she can tell when she's low, so we haven't had any emergencies yet. Sometimes when she's being a typical 10 year old and whining about chores or something, it helps me be more patient with her to remind myself that she gives herself at least 5 shots every day, and does a finger prick at least 5 or 6 times every day and can't just eat a snack whenever she wants and she *never* complains!
Oh I LOVE these SOOOO much! I lovelovelove that you write fic! I do too! Sadly don't have much time so it's mostly in my head but it remains my obsession and guilty pleasure.
It's so great your girls have each other. I'm grateful everyday my boys are so close in age too. They bicker but they spend a TON of the day playing together and they'd be lost without each other. Thanks so much for this write up it sounds lovely, but I don't envy you the blood sugar checking :/ Sadie is such a trooper. And an amazing baker!
