I went away late last week to visit my mom and help her go through boxes of stuff -- among which was my 7th grade sex ed workbook. I didn't get abstinence-only sex ed, but looking through that workbook, it was most definitely abstinence-focused. Best way to prevent STDs? ABSTINENCE OMG! Oh, yeah, and condoms and testing.
