Taking and crediting the first.

(Though the second kind of fits with the theme, you know. He's still! No, he's moving! No, wait! No... yes... no...)

Oooh... will you share how you did that animated gif from the flash? I've been trying to figure that out ever since I first saw it. I guess I'm just stupid anyway because I can't even find how to get to the actual file from the Azkaban site, since it's all embedded in framesets. grrr.

Just accidentally surfed in your journal tonight via your Absolut Snape ad, btw -- which is just the best. =D

will you share how you did that animated gif from the flash?Sure thing. As a matter of fact, I'll describe the whole process (mainly because I like explaining things, but we'll pretend it's beneficial to other people, too ^_ ( ... )

Yes! Screencap! I figured that out right after I posted here, but thought I was going about it the hard way and there had to be some sort of program or something to save the flash version. Yours is so much smoother because I didn't think of doing layers, I just screencapped the hell out of it to get 6 different frames. hehehe But oh well. Thanks so much for explaining to me. I will use that technique next time.

No problem :) Like I said, I love explaining things.

BTW, you can save the flash version, you just need a flash editing program to get frame shots out of it. As my trial version of Macromedia Flash ran out before I learned how to use the silly thing, I wasn't in a position to do it that way. But I suspect that since Macromedia makes Fireworks as well, which also does animated gifs, you could open up a flash document in Firworks and convert at least parts of it to animated gifs.

Just thought about this: If you view source on the page, you can usually follow the frames down to the one you want, the look for the tag that embeds it. Actually, now that I think about it, I wonder if just using the save command for the whole page would do it--use the 'Web Page, Complete' option and look in the Files directory it makes. Hmmm.
