Detached, Enigmatic, Symbolic Stories

One of my favourite Torchwood fanfics is mclachlan's From Which Come All Things and I recently read cyus's Notebird.
I'm wondering if there are any other fics out there with that sort of style of writing, which I can only describe as detached, enigmatic, symbolic, and sort of abstract.

For a while solsticezero's writing was heavily influenced by cyus' style of writing. This one, 'The Cricket and the Bird' http://solsticezero.livejournal.com/16632.html - came to mind first, but there are others too. Check her fic that were written around the same time as this one.
