Nah, I'm like that too with certain books.

I read Alice in Wonderland over and over, along with East of Eden. Same for the Wheel of Time series, and Harry Potter.

Some need to be reread over and over to fully appreciate them.

A guy at work quoted from Lord of Chaos the other day. I kind of did the head-tilt and was like 'oh, never heard of it'. Then he said it was from a little series (mocking since it's not little) known as the Wheel of Time, and I was like 'OH! -That- Lord of Chaos'.

*spaz*

I haven't read any of those other books however. :/

Aye! My goal is to try and read all those by the end of this year, but it's more likely to be by the end of 2009 maybe.

Couldn't be worse than One Hundred Years of Solitude. I totally struggled through that book and the repetitive naming.

It was good I guess, but hard to read.

Well I liked the religious undertones in His Dark Materials, but that might be because it was implying that the catholic religion is full of ... well, you know. Based on what you're saying, I think this'll be a loaner from the library. Hopefully the municipal library (probably the size of a small McDonald's seating area) will order it in, and isn't like our Blockbuster that doesn't stock any classic movies (no Hepburn, seriously??).

On a completely unrelated note, I have a new candidate for the role of arch-nemesis. You've been neglectful in your duties, and I feel maybe some competition will bring back that caustic spirit of yours.
