It looks as though 93L may be split into two: 93L (respecting the original mid-level circulation embedded within/along the potent Tropical Wave), and possibly soon to become official: 94L - Respecting the now more dominant mid-level circulation to the northeast of the original, but still a part of that wave's energy ( Read more... )

Following the sad, sorry tale of 91L, the original surface low tracked across Florida, and there are now possibly two surface lows centered along the trough axis in the northeastern Gulf of Mexico. NRL has all but stopped tracking 92L, and NHC has written it off completely. (Both may be a bit premature imho. Convection has been battered by shear and dry air entrainment, the cyclone is over even cooler waters today, and it looks just plain poopy. NHC has finally taken the liberty of centering Floater 2 over Invest 92L tonight. Might have been nice had we had this at this time last night, as it's taken a bit of a pinching from some dry air entrainment from the west, and some increased shear ( Read more... )
