This is the craziest, earliest spring I have ever seen. In Boston, it is like early June. I have never seen the lilacs and apple trees bloom and go by so early. In NYC, it's almost like late June. AN acquaintance NYC reported hearing crickets last night. In New England, one does not hear them until July.

Correction: She flew to CA and heard the crickets there, not in NYC. Still, it has been a bizarre year so far.

I can't say that it's been especially warm here in Austin. But looking at the global map does fill in the gaps not provided by Limbo et. al.
